Is she a model or a porn actress?

Wow -- I've sure got you fooled, lithy!:p J/K -- thanks for the vote of confidence!

Back on page 3, near the top, I thought it was interesting that when DnC quoted wasabi, instead of wasabi's name in the quote, it said lithy.

pretty mindbending.

What an old bump, wasabi absorbed all my posts from Dec 02-Nov 04

Yoko DOES NOT do any porn. She is indeed a Gravure Idol.

Ah... gravure, can't believe there's a billion yen market for that stuff. It's titilation without satiation. "Look but don't touch. Touch but don't taste. Taste but don't swallow." Really what's the point?

I'm not sure why I had to say it now... but I guess the intense homosexual vibe of the above quote got me in the proper mood. Is that desterbing?

At this time there are no plans for it to be dumped or copied.

Do you feal it would be right for an unreleased game to be bootleged?

This is a serious question, and im not sure if itd be good for the neo community or not.

Maybe Shawn can have an "official" release of it?

First, there is no US copy write, second even if there was a US copy write the game is what you called "abandoned ware", meaning the company no longer is making money off it or cares about it. In order for there to be a copy write violation in regards to duplicating software the software that is duplicated must be available for new for sale by the original copy write holder.

Not that I am particularly interested in the game but I just wondered why no one bothered to translate the available article. So, here you go. A few things might be interesting for the NeoGeo historian. It's just a fast and ugly translation. Parts where I was not clear about either reading or meaning are marked with "[ ]". To make reading easier I did not write long vowels (sho -> shou, yumekobo -> yumekoubou). Also as I am not a native English speaker please forgive my bad grammar.

--- START PAGE 1 ---

True to its name, the just recently founded Yumekobo is a company that produces dreams!!

This time in our "Neo-Geo-Related Producer-Interview" we talked to Yumekobo which was just founded in August 1996 (Heisei 8). They are currently developing the software Karate Ninja Sho for Neo Geo. We asked mainly about the foundation of the new company and the new software. Mr. [Nobuyuki Okuide], Representative Director of Yumekobo, kindly answered our questions.

Founding a strong Thirdparty-Company

- As it is a new company, let's start with the presentation of the company.

# Well, SNK founded this company together with Mr. [Teruo Inoue] (before Representative Director of Eicom), me (before CEO of Takara) and others under joint investment and it is game developing company.

We started with 80 employees of which a part comes from Eicom. As it is a new company that was just founded on August 2nd we are hoping for support (from the community).

- What is exactly your business plan?

# That is mainly the development of original software concentrating on the Neo Geo but also for PS and Sega Saturn. [Besides we are also planning to port Neo Geo Software to the other two platforms.]

At the moment there are 4 titles under development including Karate Ninja Sho and from now on as a core of SNK's thirdparty we want to enhance the lineup for the Neo Geo.

Fun-Action-Game Karate Ninja Sho

- Well then, please tell us something about the title you are currently developing, Karate Ninja Sho.

# I'll just start with the story: the earth is attacked by the [Snayker]-invaders and with the first attack America and soon the whole world is invaded.

Mankind already has no light of hope. But right when everybody thinks, that there is nothing else than waiting for death, the main characters of the game appear on the scene.

They are masters of the "Hishoryu Ninjutsu", a secret fighting technique that has been handed down since the Warring States period in Japan, and are the 4 "Karate Ninja Sho", "Karate Ninja Ai", "Karate Ninja Gun" and "Karate Ninja Shin[..]".

These 4 take actions to put an end to the world of war. That's the story.

- This sounds like a severe development of the story. Let's come then to the most important point, the concept of Karate Ninja Sho.

--- END OF PAGE 1 ---

Now, forget the part about the dull story. But what we learn is that Yumekobo is not www.yumekobo.jp as the two companies' profiles don't match. A quick search at google.jp revealed that even today there are a few companies in Japan with this name. Gamefaqs tells us that after making Blazing Star and Prehistoric Isle 2 they concentrated on developing for the NGPC. No Saturn or PS games are listed. Also as they would only produce original content it is very unlikely that "Sho" is based on some anime or manga. Nevertheless, co-founded by SNK it seems that Yumekobo was an important project for the company. I wonder what happened. And why did the first game appear in 1998, two years after it was established? Does anyone have the other pages of the article?

Finally Some Help! / A Thousand Thanks!

Gentlemen,

Yes of course I have been monitoring the "out of the blue" revival of this 2 year old dead thread, and who would have thought that after spinning wildly out of control (off topic) that someone would actually finally read and reply to the on topic and significant request which I made back in November 2003...!!! Absolutely unbelievable if you ask me!

Anyhow, A thousand thanks to you my friend for taking time to sit down and translate the text from the article. The guy whom I had sent the text and pic files to (noted much earlier in this thread) simply never did anything with them. Oh well, better late then never and you came through here for us. Thank you again.

Furthermore, yes indeed I have the additional page from the article which also contains many more screenshots and alot more information (some pics never before seen) and yet AGAIN I would be willing to send the file out to be translated. (as I said I did this already two years ago but the guy was a dead beat!) But if your willing to translate this second page, simply say so here in this thread, email me your email address, and I will send the file to you tonight.

Thanks again, that was very nice of you and very helpfull.

Also as a sidenote, we all pretty much suspected the Yumekobo and AICOM connection (translated as eicom in the article) since Pulstar was made by Aicom and Blazing Star (unofficial sequel) was made by Yumekobo. Now we know for certain thanks to you. So many thanks!

;)

I could translate the second page over the weekend. Just send it to me: sk1d/at/excite.co.jp

Sorry about the Aicom/Eicom mistake. I should have known better.

As an attorney, let me speak with my legal knowledge and say "STFU": you don't know anything about copyright. Please don't pretend to, please stop repeating "what you read on the internet" because I actually know copyright law and you are making things up.

Did you understand? Nothing you wrote above is correct.

That is all, continue the thread.

Copyright simply means it's MY right to copy and can also be seen as it's ok to copy, right?
