No matter who wins,
we all lose.

Fuckin' A.

I'm pretty sure Trump will be the winner. But Hillary is just as bad.

Bernie has some nice momentum right now, but I'm sure Clinton will snake her way into the nomination.

Scandinavian countries with "sky high tax rates" are some of the wealthiest countries in the world. Unlike the US, we don't have widespread poverty or very high rates of crime. It obviously works.

Also, Bernie Sanders is by no means a SOCIALIST. Scandinavian countries don't have SOCIALISM either.

Have fun with those "refugees".

It's very easy to be socialist when your society is mostly homogeneous and has a healthy work culture.

Wouldn't work in America. We have a lot of entitled poor people who live 100% on dole and see children as welfare checks and not actual humans.
I see a LOT of this in my work.

That's a great reply there. Steer clear of the actual topic and go for an ad hominem argument instead :make_fac:

Listen...I'm going to use this stance for these kinds of discussions only. Often, I couldn't care less what color you are, how much $$ you have, or what country you are from. But concerning this one topic...

You do not live here.

It's that simple. I do not live in Europe...my only "exposure" to it is either the media or word of mouth from those that live there. I have zero clue what day to day life is like in European countries. Real life, not the bullshit the media decides to report, or how they paint pictures or spin the truth. I refuse to discuss foreign politics for this very reason. I literally have no horse in that race nor do I have a real clue of day to day issues the people there experience.

Nor do you have a single clue what real American life is like, not by a long shot. I'm not talking about the horse shit that trickles overseas, what garbage the TV spits out, or even sites like this. A vast majority of us wake up to, work, live, and die in this country...we know what real, day to day life is like. We know what is shit and what is real.

I am 100% not trying to be disrespectful to you, I'm just not interested in what a foreigner has to say about US politics.

Bernie and Trump have the same problem- they're both not electable at all. Trump rates horribly with undecideds, independents, and moderate Dems. Bernie has higher likability ratings but he's so left he'd get creamed in a general election by anyone who's not totally out there (even Cruz would beat him).

Bernie is probably closer to the majority of American voters than any other candidate.

If that's true, its probably due to the fact that a vast majority of Americans are complete fucking morons, so that make perfect sense. It is pathetic how little the average American understands about economics and finance, Bernie is a shining example of ignorance driven optimism.

It is beyond me how people cannot grasp how shitty of a concept socialism really is. Giving the government $1 in hopes that they'll give $.35 back to you is just plain retarded.

Most Americans are socialist.

They believe in things like:
Public Education
Public Roads & Bridges
The Post Office
Rural Electrification
Police and Fire services
Public Parks and Beaches

Even in my community where socialism is a bad word, everybody loves paying 5.2 cents per kwh of electricity (including all taxes and fees).

That's a bit of a stretch. That's like saying "Most people scratch their butt, therefore they're into fisting."

He was hoping you'd have something worthwhile to add.

Me? Not holding out hope on that. We already know who you support anyway.

Except we also have quiet a lot of private schools, private courier services, a fair bit of the electrical infrastructure is owned by a handful of corporations, private security firms exist (mall cops, for example), and there are quite a lot of private parks. My homeowner's association has a private park for the community to use that we all pay for.

I'll admit the roads are public, but only because it's not feasible to build private roads on top of them. City planning is hard enough without worrying about future private road plans.

And your point would be?

A little bit of socialism is ok, but Americans like CHOICE.
We reserve the right to tell the system to go fuck itself on occasion.

He's saying what I'm saying...America is not a socialist country. If anything, it's complete clusterfuck.

You have people living off the socialist'ish government tit, in squalor shit-holes with crappy government funded services, you have the elite wealthy basically doing what they please in the lap of luxury, then you have the waning middle class attempting to hold on to what they have.

Now you are starting to sound like Bernie Sanders

A government or adminstration caring for their people is hardly socialism. I guess the Trumps of this world have told you guys a lie or two too much, otherwise you wouldn't spout such nonsense.
