I predict that mjmjr25 will have the best ones, and that's probably the ones his kids make.

@ChuChu Flamingo: Cool Pac-man & Splatterhouse 3 gourds. They're both neat, but I gotta go with masked Rick as my favorite out of the pair.

@ookitarepanda: Your fiance did a great job on that portrait and it's super awesome that you look like Chang Koehan in real life!

I can't remember the last time I carved a pumpkin . . .

Not this year, but thanks for the vote of confidence! Kids each did one, but everything was a bit rushed this year. Got hammered by snowstorm the night we did them and power was in and out - trees collapsing, yadda yadda - kids were more interested in watching the storm and/or freaking out from it.

The one on bottom right I think is the best one this year - it was my 7yo's - she had the most want and patience this year.

Everyone of them is great and deserves a Wow! BTW, come to Köln, there's no snow here, except in snow globes from gift shops. Man, real snow...

There were good intentions at my house to carve a pumpkin....several of them.

But I knew good and well my wife wasn't gonna actually do it. Now I have to huck the fuckers in the trash before they rot.

Pumpkin soup is super easy and will give you meals for a couple days.

Spoiler:
-Cut top out like you would a standard carved pumpkin
-Hollow out pumpkin (the stringy stuff and the seeds)
-brown some chicken thigh meat (3 thighs is plenty)
-chop 3 celery stalks and 3 carrots
-Add the chicken, celery, carrots and a can of chicken noodle soup to the hollowed out pumpkin
-Add a can of chicken broth and 1 cup of water
-Cook for 90 mins in the oven
-Remove from oven and remove top
-Use a spoon or similar item to scrape at pumpkin walls, having 1" sized bits falling into the soup
-Scoop as much pumpkin as you care for, to your taste, we usually carve out about 20 1" slices
-Salt and pepper to taste

This recipe will get you about 12 full size bowls

That is a great Idea for a recipe! I am going to try that!

A bit late, but I'm one for simplicity...also because I'm not horribly artistic!
