I was a personal trainer for years, so I'm biased in this but they are absolutely worth it.
Typically clients would come in looking to push last a plateau or need someone to hold them accountable to fitness without hurting themselves. PTs can help with ensuring you have proper form, you're training is meeting your goals, you have appropriate work rest cycles, and that you're effectively overloading your muscles in a structured way.
Think of it this way, you're investing in you. You will retain the knowledge of proper exercise form and effective workout plans even if you stop going to a trainer, so why not.
