Stirling Castle in Scotland?

It’s a good guess but I think it might be a Fantasy mash up of ideas. Here’s Eileen Donan.

Only one of those stages was actually a street.
True! Makes me want to watch this Charlie Bronson movie now, since they got so much inspiration from it, I don’t think I ever have.

imagine hearing all about this awesome arcade 2p called street fighter imagining something out of the Charles Bronson movie only to see a barefoot karateka send a ball of energy into some flashing green monstrosity in a jungle level

Sad day in Hong Kong. The JUMBO floating restaurant has left. Cheng Sinzan's stage in FF2 captured my imagination as a kid. I had a chance to visit it when I was in HK in 2019, but told myself next time.

Thanks to covid, the restaurant stopped operating in 2020. After the kitchen barge capsized two weeks ago, that was the final nail in the coffin.

J. Carn's stage from World Heroes 2 is the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City in Beijing.

Although the Forbidden City wasn't built until close to 200 years after Genghis Khan J. Carn died, not to mention his dynasty was out of power by then. Oops.

Fake news, I've never been to Shanghai, which is where Gen's stage is located.

Great site, thanks for the link.

I went to Seoul a few days ago and wanted to see Namdaemun solely because it was Kim's stage in FF2.

Unfortunately, this is its current status. You'd think after four years the damn thing woulda been fixed by now.
