I've really backed off of toys for the last few years and have pretty much made myself quit buying them no matter how cool they are.

I really wanted to get into those retro play MOTU figures though.

Now the newest thing that is trying to tempt me is the JoyToy Warhammer 40K action figures.

If anyone here picks up some of these I would very much like to hear your thoughts on their build quality and such.

Looking forward to the upcoming Mai Shiranui release in this series as well. It’s not often that we see the SNK figures try to adhere to Shinkiro’s classic iteration of the character:

Oof accurate or not that Mai looks bad. Terry looks pretty good aside from his shoes.

How tall are these?

@FAT$TACKS I picked up a couple of McFarlane's recent 7" Warhammer 40K action figures, and those were pretty cool, other than the paintwork being pretty minimal/basic, but, no JoyToy ones.

Hey what up terry.330, they’re roughly 6 inches tall or so.

It’s all good. It’s different and likely not for everyone, but the unique adaptation of Shinkiro’s version of Mai is one I never see these companies use too often.

Recently found this guy for cheap at a 2nd hand shop. I recognized him from the Turtles, but didn't know his name. I was informed that it is Scumbug. I set him up in my daughters' bedroom, and they freaked out when they came home and saw him. haha

You're lucky Scumbug's antennae are intact, those are often broken off on secondhand ones.

Saw this today, note the Grover head at the end of the tail. Pure awesome!

That figure was made by Gabriel Marquez, who sadly died just before its release.

This one was released after his passing but based on his design.

Here's my loose Scumbug that I got for 75¢ at a thrift store back in 2015 (I found another one at a different time, but, that one's antennae were ripped off, so, I passed). I think my younger brother had him when we were kids too. Loved Playmates' zany art direction on their TMNT figures at the time.

He looked somewhat different in the Archie TMNT comics:

TMNT can be real body horror sometimes.
If I had to guess, I'd say that Scumbug was influenced by Cronenberg's remake of The Fly which was still fairly new at the time. After looking into it, I kind of want to shell out for the accessories or just get a complete figure. Normally I don't care about that so much, but this guy has some really cool parts.

NECA recently made a new Scumbug & Antrax 2-pack too.

It’s lame that NECA keeps releasing these b-tier characters but yet it is still hard to find the actual Turtles.

I mean don’t care because I stopped trying to collect these things, but all I wanted ever to get my hands on were Bebop and Roxksteady.
