I get quite frustrated with this one.

There's a lot of cheap deaths in this game. Like having bullets totally cloaked under explosions that you can only avoid by a miracle...

I ll still try to take the lead, my goal is to reach at least 400k. It'll give me an extra life to maybe reach another boss.

C'mon Dogg! You can do it.

Save some bombs for the 1st phase of 4th boss and reaching level will quickly let you reach the magical 400K to get an extend. I believe I blew up stage 5 boss, but got a hit and died (hidden bullet under an explosion once again).

Even tho I could have gone to the nexty stage, I surely would had made it far. I was totally depleted of bombs.

Sounds like it's best to avoid dying. Have you tried using all your bombs?

They’ll be damned if you’re having too much fun. Best to power you down.

In Aero Fighters it's based on number of shots fired, so if you hold your fire it lasts longer. Not sure if that's the case here or not.

There also is a PS2 version which I have. Had a few goes, ended up in the 260k region, will give it another go and take pics.

Last boss drained what resources I had left, but wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to turn out, I died on the stage right before the boss so it dropped the rank hard.
