Looks cool. I hope they have more up their sleeve than just a starfox remake.

Hope Nintendo doesn't serve them with a cease and desist.

Looks good, but hot damn is it spot on right down to the voices.

Awww, too bad. I’ve stopped backing Kickstarter projects after being burnt too many times.

Love it but a kickstarters a no for me. I only back games that are done and need money for distribution or manufacturing.

Cool that it looks like it met its goal. I like that there aren't any silly 'too good to be true' stretch goals.

We already have Star Fox. I hope it brings something new to the formula. The kickstarter page doesn't seem to mention anything about gameplay at all. I'll buy it when it's on sale for $1.50 in 7 years.

This looks really nice. If this lands on a console, I'll grab it.

Came out last week in early access.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1249480/ExZodiac/

Why Early Access?

“Ex-Zodiac has already benefited a huge amount from the community feedback it has received over the last few months. Early Access will help bring the game to more people and thus provide even more feedback, helping to shape things such as gameplay, difficulty balancing, and fixing any technical issues that might arise early on. All this will allow Ex-Zodiac to reach its final release in a state that I can be proud of.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in Early Access for around a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game has over 12 stages planned, with branching paths and secret areas.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of the game has 6 stages currently, plus 6 shorter bonus stages.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will probably change to 15 dollars at full release in 2023.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community (particularly on Discord) is playing a big part in helping to shape the game and its overall feel. I'm taking into account all of the feedback I receive and using it to help make the game a better experience. You can join the Discord community here: https://discord.gg/DZXYTq7”

This seems like a perfect title for the Steam Deck. Added to my wishlist. I’ll dig around and see if anyone has it running on the deck yet.

Edit:

Hell yeah. After I beat Stray I’ll pick this up. I’m trying not to hoard games I’m not playing.

This is a great handheld title. So far enjoying it but I suck at it. I'm glad to see ANY on-rails shooter though. Game is a bit faster paced than I seem to recall any of these titles, with little room to dodge some shots (again, I do suck at this).

You can have all the classic star fox stuff: barrel rolls (which I only discovered on the 2nd stage), shooting, lock-on shots, bombs, etc.

I actually like the bosses so far. Some neat designs and intuitive patterns to dodge. The level design is good, though most of your regular enemies are nothing to write home about. You do have a mix between shooting enemies and having to dodge environmental stuff.

This game does have a speed up and slow down mechanic. Did star fox ever have that? I don't remember.

I was never a fan of "all range mode" but it still looks fantastic.
