This game is a lot of fun, especially if you're a cat owner.

There are a couple of (like literally two) parts that irritated me a little, both having to do with stealth (I hate stealth and escort missions to no end). But otherwise a fairly enjoyable game. Other than the aforementioned stealth BS, I only have to real 'complaints' and one of them really isn't a complaint.

1. I wish you could have customized the cat. Its your standard orange tabby, and Ive got an organge tabby (named Dewford Dingus) so that was cool. But it would have been nice to choose the breed, or at least color/coat pattern, etc. Honestly not a huge gripe by any means, just something that would have been nice.

2. Its woefully short. I completed it in about 7 hours and got it on release (7/22). Evidently if you don't really fuck with the side stuff, which there really isn't much in the first place, it can be completed in about 5 hours.

I've been waiting for this game for literal years, and its a bummer it was over so quick. But still rather enjoyable, and the fact that it's at a good price point considering the length ($25) its not too bad of a price. Definitely will go through it again to try and explore more.

Story spoilers ahead for those who care:

Spoiler:
The game starts with your kitty and his 3 other siblings in sort of a run down urban area that has been reclaimed by nature. Clearly it's the future and all humans are nowhere to be found. The siblings hop across a pipe that breaks as your kitty lands on it and it takes a tumble in what I can only describe as the most heart wrenching scene in any game in which you play a domestic cat. Your family can be heard meowing, looking for you when you land (with a limp, no less - 😭😭), its heart breaking.

The game ends with you getting back to the surface, but no sign of your family. I dont know if its because I missed a few of the scannable memories in the game, but maybe if you 100% it you get a different ending scene.

Your companion is a little flying drone that translates language, scans, and at some points is an offensive weapon. But you build a little relationship with the drone, named B12.

B12 gives his life to let you escape the predicament in the endgame. It means a bit more when he 'dies' because through the game it's revealed he was a human scientist who lost his family in a plague, and uploaded his consciousness into a network, which you end up transferring into the drone at the beginning of the game.

Nice, I think when my Steam Deck arrives I'm going to pick it up on Steam. Supposed to run well. Glad to know the game is fun.

LOL @ Dewford Dingus.

My cat has my last name, his first name is George and his middle name is Washington.

You need to up your cat name game @HornheaDD

Oh, bitch please...

Dewf is named after Dewford Dingus Duck from the DuckTales reboot, Randy Butternubs is from a one line joke from Adventure Time, and Ahsoka Tano's namesake is one of the best written Star Wars characters of all time.

Know your place, pleb!

Would you talk to George Washington like that? Dude was 6'8" and weight a fucking ton.

Did you play Monster Hunter World? I always made my Palico look like my cat lol.

I'm pretty surprised that you can't customize your cat. I have no way of playing this, but if I did, I would wait for the inevitable create-a-cat. Then again, if it's only 7 or 8 hours, I could just replay it once that happens. It seems like modders have already taken care of it on PC.

It's a freebie on PlayStation if you have PS Plus Extra or Premium. I would have gladly paid full price for it so it it's a nice extra on the new service tiers.

I was really hoping for Cat customization as well. They have the other cat models in the game, so it would have been nice. I'm assuming the lead designer owns a Tabby.

I had a laughing fit when you first get the harness. My Cat does the exact same thing. Flopped on the ground, and then moved very awkwardly. I couldn't stop laughing.

Yeah I was going to buy it outright but then PS+ told me "hey if you just pay $18 until your next billing date for yearly PS+ you can upgrade and get this game and all these others free..." I figured what the hell, so I upgraded.

I have not been playing this game daily since I got it…in part because i am really enjoying it. This is a great damn game, and just so charming. Really wanting to savor the game so to speak since it’s so short.

Just beat the game at 6.5 hours. What a great game, well worth the money. Really liked the ending. While I wish there was "more" I'm glad this wasn't dragged out to 20+ hours of nonsensical side and fetch objectives. When you do get to do something for the first time it feels special. Glad those times weren't repeated ad nauseam.

Anyone who beat it unlock all the memories? I think I only got about two-thirds and I thought I was exploring everything!

i think there's a lot to explore which can easily put that 6.5 hr mark to 11-12 hours.
