That Mario watch looks like about 10 minutes was put into the design.

In general I dislike the pop culture brand x watch brand mashups. Even the Bond edition omegas…for that much money I think I’d just get a normal Omega that looks nicer without the Bond family crest (why even include this?) and faux patina.

At first glance the band looked like some odd coloured digital camouflage.
I had to stare at it for a second before I realized it was a repeating pattern of Marios.

I tried on the Tudor BB58 black and the BB Ceramic. I'm still in love with the BB58. Maybe after my wedding I can justify the purchase, but right now it just seems like I could use that to pay for stuffs. The ceramic is really nice, but $5k is a bit much for a style like this. The black dial with the white indices just works though. You have to see it in person. I forgot to snag a pic, but here is the BB ceramic from the website:

I think I prefer the blue 58 or the slate bronze 58 TBH. Either those or the full size Pelagos, which I didn't get the hype for at first but it's grown on me.

The whole brand has grown on me. They look amazing in person. I'm over the snowflake hand now but I still feel Tudor will never get out of the shadow of big daddy Rolex but that's fine by me. When you actually put one on all that disappears and a watch should be something YOU like not something to impress other people. If I felt like at any point I was trying to buy these watches because a Rolex is too expensive I'd turn back. Nothing to do with that. They look nice and have a charm all their own.

Got a new Casio recently, and made a few modifications to it. New leather strap and I removed the words from the bezel with some goo gone. Thought it looked too busy, when it's already busy as hell. Ha

Nice mod. I've been wanting to swap out the strap for my Casio for a long time but the pins are so close to the case. I'm not sure which NATO to buy for it. Never considered leather.

Since the bezel is that light bronze color, I thought brown leather would look good with it. If it were black or silver or something else, a nato would've made way more sense.

I was wearing mine this morning when I went to vote.
Swapped out for this beast when I got home.

The bracelet on mine is factory and kinda crappy but it's functional.
No idea ow large your wrists are but mine seems to run a little small.

The metal version at least is nicknamed the Casino Royale because it’s similar to Roger Moore’s Seiko TV in Octopussy.

Speaking of with that funky looking Hamilton Pulsar he wore is available as well

I like the Pulsar but I think I like the Acutron LED watch more.

I'm prob going to get a Hamilton Ventura at some point. Really not a fan of their field watches even though everyone goes nuts over them.

I certainly think that Pulsar would certainly be an attention getter. Yeah that Hamilton Ventura is very cool, that was Elvis’s watch if you didn’t know.

I’d like to see the Khaki Field watches in person. I know since they were military watches they’re no-nonsense beyond the hacking, but since I’m less than an hour from Lancaster, PA where they were originally from I’d like to get a Hammie because of that for one. The Bulova Hacks seem to be fairly similar for a slightly less price as well. I recently got a Victorinox Fieldforce and I’m happy with that so far as my field watch fix.

I’d like to get a Seiko Alpinist Special Ed, the new smaller metal bracelet not out yet Bulova Lunar Pilot, or maybe the Tissot PRX waffle auto as my next watch. I may get a Casioak solar or there is a brown and green Orient Triton I like to mess around with before I spend more money on one of those, but they’re my future wants for now.

I thought about the Ventura because I’m actually an Elvis fan. It does look odd though, and I think it kind of hinges on what you’re wearing or the social setting you’re in for that one. I would probably buy the Pulsar, but not for $1000.

I like Hamilton. I have an open heart jazz master and I’m really pleased with it.

Very true on the Ventura, again the history on that to me adds to the mystique.

To me with Hamilton it’s either a lot of Khaki or a lot of dressier black leather band type watches, there’s not a lot of in between, maybe the Khaki King or the Murph Interstellar watch, but there aren’t too many chronos or turtle style dive watches which seem to be what I personally prefer generally sub $1200.

I do like that open heart look though.

The nice thing about the Ventura is that the OG model is under a grand. I think it’s $800. And you have to go for the classic version since being a quarts watch was a big selling point at the time and made it iconic.

I didn’t know that, very cool. I have no problem with quartz, especially if that was the og inspiration. Thats one thing holding me back from that Tissot PRX I mentioned, it is based on the Tissot seastar from the 70s which is originally a quartz watch. I wish they made the waffle pattern of that on the quartz, I love the waffle look on a watch, but would love to have something that adheres to the original inspiration (and quartz is $375 vs $650).
