Gunbird 2 by Psikyo is our first Shmup of the Month for 2023. AFAIK it plays the same on every platform, so just make sure you're set to Normal difficulty and 3 lives.

Did you know this game has 27 different endings? See how many you can find!

Boy I gave this a go last night, barely made it to stage 3! I used to be much better, or perhaps it was the vodka… will give it another go soon when I haven’t had quite so much to drink.

Played a bit of this on-stream last night. Really enjoy the game, but man, medal chaining is such a distraction from staying alive. I’ll play more but I’ll throw up this score for now.

I'm not great at any Psikyo shmups (except maybe Zero Gunner 2), but this will give me an excuse to blow the cobwebs off my DC I guess.

I've been putting in a bit of practice... not confident I can even post a half decent score at this point. Those really small bullet patterns do my head in.

There's a reason I don't play this much, and I think I've reminded myself real quick as to why. Anyway, I'll keep at it for now... but I'd rather be spending my spare time on Dodonpachi.

Ugh. I'm struggling hard. Forgot to grab pic, but i'm on Switch so it should have saved it. Just over 300. I just need to stop trying to chain. I think i'll score higher just surviving and getting 4th boss kill. I also need to stick with Aine. I like Tavia's speed for stage 4 and beyond, but Aine's close shot is so powerful early game you can almost coast to stage 4. Guys that can loop this game I do not comprehend. Like interstellar space level incomprehension.

I adore Psikyo for the record. I like that expression. People are putting our opinions about random game developers on some record somewhere. That's cool.

I only marginally increased my score. I find that chasing the magical head and medal chaining are my most frequent causes of death. I'm definitely having fun with this one, Tavia is my go to for speed and power

Non-existent. It's a fantastic port (all of them on the 3 compilations are excellent). The only one that feels a hair off is Zero Gunner 2 and I can't place why it feels a little off.

If I hadn't owned the PCB i'd say there's a 1/16th of a second delay on bombing, but that's present on PCB too. I've sold my DC port after getting switch. It's that good.
