The 80s had some super super thin records. You could shave with that stuff. Back then they were trying to cheapen the cost of manufacture and of course move everyone to CD. Now the artist and the fan actively work to drive the cost UP…a CD is still $15 but a record is $35 now, or even $50 sometimes, just for a basic release.

First off, both A sides absolutely kill.

Secondly, these covers are the best. They say, “Behold! We bring to you this killer Latin disco sound but make no claim to ownership. Full disclosure: we rented this thing.”

CDs, not vinyls, but fuck you who cares? At least I'm not spamming the thread like SmegmaOfZeta.

Relatively recent reissue. While the OG was made to be a UK chart eligible EP in fact all three songs will fit on the same side at either speed so that’s what they did here, making it a good test disc and also hard to wear out since you basically have two copies in one…

The extremely disappointing Denon 300 is gone and this Tech 1500 has taken its place. I’m happy with it.

Joe Cassidy was a good friend of the family. I didn’t know him back in the day so this one from 1993 was new to me until tonight and I’m really into it. It reminds me of The Other Two and You, which came out that same year.

Jesus Christ, no one cares about your boomer rock records from 50 years ago.

You're worse than Tony Bacon with his youtube vids. Christ.

I haven’t heard the 2008 version. Any edits, additions, subtractions, remixing, or sweetening that makes it worth double dipping?

I’m on my third copy of the original pressing, lol.

Content-wise it’s the same as OG, AFAIK. I go between OG, 2008, and the “Steven Wilson Remix” and honestly I can’t tell the difference. I wish I knew someone insufferable enough to explain to me the reason nerds with ponytails want to kill each other over this shit. Even then, like you, this is a record that I quite literally wear out so I’m pretty much always in the market for clean copies of any vintage.

The only thing that comes to mind as far as new pressings of Yes records failing is not on the record but in the packaging. The little book that comes with Fragile with all the (heartbreakingly wonderfully) candid snapshots in it is simply not an accurate reproduction. The paper is all wrong and you can tell it’s a rescan. Dion could do way better. Other that than, all that expensive Yes crap that I own seems great. I just preordered a $100 version of their next album! :)
