Replaced the ZMC2 with a new one from Furrtek. Getting the exact same C ROM issue. Although the audio is fine, I realized the ZMC2 also handles Z80 bankswitching, so it might be a signal that there is another problem further down the chain?

Both WE pins read high. Also no reading from the logic probe on the R/W pin on the PROG board.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong; bear with me. On my working AES console, for reference: G0 pins 39 and 40 both always read high, pin 41 reads high. On my faulty console, pin 39 and 41 read high, but pin 40 reads nothing. Could this be the culprit? I'm not sure why I can't get a low reading on...

It's the debug equivalent of the later 40gb fat model, so only partial backwards compatibility, not what the launch model had.

R/W traces fine to the pin on the PROG cart slot, PAL traces to the C1. Not sure where to trace C1 from there (68k?) but I've ordered a logic probe and will report back tomorrow.

I have an AES with a palette RAM unwritable error. Replaced both palette ram chips and tried swapping them. Same Lower error. Pin 27 on both trace to the G0 buffer. Where do I go from here? Could it be a bad B1or G0? Am I looking for an issue on the bottom chip (F1), or the upper chip (G1)?
