Hello all.
So I have been having problems with this 2 slot cabinet for a while and can't seem to nail down why the game select function won't work. Hardware test shows both "Select Up" and "Select Down" working. Triple checked the harness and it is just fine as well. When I place 2 carts in the board they will switch on the standard timeout feature. So it CAN swap game carts.... Just not on command. Any ideas on what is going on?

Depending on your bios/bios settings switching games might not be allowed unless there is a credit.

Yeah. And if you have the free play setting on, it should let you select after the Neo Geo splash logo is finished.

Credits can be applied and freeplay is on. Still no change. Been messing with this for a month.

What BIOS are you using??? Just change the bios to a different one and see what happens unless you did that already...

Swapped out BIOS from standard stock to another Standard BIOS and no change. Then swapped in a Unibios 4.0 and that did the trick. No idea why... But it works. Thanks for the point to focus on. Still don't know why stock BIOS doesn't work but at least it works now.

The IC's on these boards are getting old. Could be chip rot/deterioration?

You may want to take a look at your NEO-F0 chip @ 11C and make sure all tracks are OK or maybe it's going bad.
I have parts galore....

Did you change the softdips with the stock bios? Could have been corrupt BRAM which is probably why it works after putting in the Unibios.
