4 slot work ram error

i have a 4 slot that gives me the following:

work ram error

address
00101250

write
5555

read
555D

anyone know what i need to fix/ replace?

Check the lower work ram, could be a broken trace.

Based on the address of the error being 00101250 I don't think it is a bad trace. A bad trace would cause an error at a "threshold" address like 00101000 for example. This is almost certainly a bad RAM chip. It is one of the surface mount RAM chips and it will need to be replaced. If it is an MV-4 board then I can send you a picture showing which RAM chip is causing the error. If it is a MV-4F then I might be able to show you. I can sell you RAM chips just like the originals for $5 each or you can get generic ones elsewhere.

I have 'em on my web site and can repair them. It's a bad SRAM chip, but it's surface mount so it's not that easy to repair if you've never done it before.

its a mv4 board. im guessing its some of the 6 sony chips to the right of the bios? not sure which ones?

That is correct. It is one of those six surface mounted RAM chips to the right of the BIOS. I will have to have a look at my MV-4 and I can tell you which one.
