It was only a matter of time that Sunderland would give Paolo Di Canio the boot, if you'll excuse the pun.

The next manager I think to lose his job will be Martin Jol.

Only a matter of time sure but everyone at Sunderland knew what they were getting with Di Canio.

Also, his sacking was a page out of Chelsea's book - player unrest resulting in them going straight to the owners

I'd have to agree here. I don't care how many crazy goals he's made during his time as an EPL player, the dude is wack and he's now got the sack!

Henk Ten Cate is going to make a come back.

And yeah, there has been no buzz about this, but I promise you he's going to be in the mix.

Heard Gus Poyet might be tipped to take over Sunderland. Didn't he coach Brighton Hove in the Championship previously?

I am still waiting for a reply on my application for the managerial position.

Dear Fellow Cats, the Cats-In-Charge and Mr. Short,

I was dismayed to find out that Di Canio was sacked recently. And many
other fans share this sentiment. His style was not conservative
enough, but that was not the real problem. I believe the real problem
was a lack of preparedness; the very thing that fortune favors.

And so I wish to throw my hat into the consideration for a new
manager. My name is Charles Malek. Yes, I am unknown. A fan from the
shadows, but I know football. I know who is good because. I know who
needs to be given their walking papers. Football is my life.

I would not ask for a salary of my own, but rather the support from
you to assemble the right pieces to run the team. The players on
Sunderland right now are extremely talented. We have the best striker
of the Eredivisie last season. And Borini was on fire in the Serie A
only 2 years ago. The cats should be pummeling opponents. And they
will, if I have anything to say about it.

In fact, if, as manager, I do not lead Sunderland to cripple Newcastle
so badly that Sunderland stay afloat while Newcastle is relegated,
then I will turn in my slip. I will leave the toons with red on their
face. I am that confident that I can succeed.

Yours in love and war,

Charles

A fan from the shadows,

you know

Same place Sunderland has been for years.

You think... they may have decided that your name isn't Italian and Fascist enough?

...You should've tried signing the email... Pierre Mussolini...

Yes he did, but he was allegedly sacked for gross misconduct but Brighton have never disclosed the truth about his dismissal.

I don't think David Moyes has got much longer in the job as Alex Ferguson has given him the dreaded vote of confidence already.
