Steering this thread back towards "Action Figures" and away from dolls I scooped these little guys up on sale from Barnes and Noble. I also got Ripley but can't upload the pic for some reason.

I love the claim "fully posable", although I completely understand that it was a different time back then :)

I mean hell, he doesn't even have knees, does he?

Ugg...that's a throwback to the shitty action figures from my childhood...I always hated those that were stiff as shit.

This is something that made me such a GI Joe fanboy back then. The Joe figures were so small yet so pose-able...and the 80's vehicles were top notch in quality.

*EDIT*
The 1980's Robocop toys come to mind...they were horrible.

indeed, i had a fairly large collection of G.I. JOE as a boy, and the figures had truly superb articulation, and the vehicles were incredible for the day,
and pretty darned sophisticated even by today's standards.

the COBRA CONDOR Z25 was one of the singular standouts of my childhood...

Didn't order it yet but I am considering picking up one of these cyberbots/armored warriors robots. It has a decent amount of diecast on it also.

it certainly appears hefty and solid. my 2003 CHOGOKIN ZZ GUNDAM has a TON of diecast for a 21st century toy,
therefore it's heft is WAY out of proportion with it's 6" 1/144 size;

Not exactly toys/action figures, but I recently started playing and collecting Heroclix.

I got this gigantic bad ass Nekron figure from the War of Light tournament that's been going on for 6 months. This was the overall prize.

This pic is of all my Black Lantern Corps!
Anyone else play or collect Heroclix?

G.I Joe's were awesome for their pose-ability. Whenever I played with them as a kid (and because of their pose-ability...), all Joe's and Cobra agents knew kung-fu :D

More my style. I don't really display them often.

The Gyaos, Gamera and Godzilla were picked up recently.

*Mind Blown*
I saw some Modern Terminator action figures at Toys R Us that I didn't buy. I have some Matrix figures, some MGS figures, but they're in storage.

I like nendos (23 right now) but I hate wind waker. Oh well.

PS: buy the luigi one too.

I did! That was my first nendorois actually. I was on the fence about it but then went to Nintendo World who had it for $45 so I picked it up.

I used to avoid Good Smile. Figmas used to be bunk but they've gotten way better over the past few years. The prices have doubled as a result but it's worth it since they have so many Nintendo licenses. I haven't gotten a new Revoltech on the other hand since the first version of the ZoE Jehuty came out.
