I preordered this a year ago as a depression buy during the early days of the lock down. Finally came today. It's dope but I have no place to display it. Eventually...

Oh, that's nice. ThreeZero has been putting out some really nice stuff since they separated from ThreeA.

Their Patlabor figure looks awesome.

More LEGO sets arrived from Walmart, via FedEx.

The Minecraft Blaze Bridge set looks pretty meh (action features might be neat though), but, it was only $16 and I wanted the Wither Skeleton and two Blazes mini figures.

Anakin's Jedi Interceptor just because. I like starships and the yellow and gray color scheme is attractive.

The Batman set is mighty cool and the thing I was most looking forward to in this order. Shazam is kind of a strange mini figure choice for this Batwing/Riddler Helicopter kit, but, I certainly prefer that to another Robin. Batgirl/Oracle, Batwoman, Nightwing, Huntress, etc. would have been a more logical choice. Cool to get Commissioner Gordon and a Gotham City cop car in addition to the two aircraft too.

Still 7 more sets on the way in the mail...I need an intervention or a wife that only gives me enough allowance to buy lunch and nothing else. 😭🤣

10 years ago I said, "PS1-era 3D is going to make a comeback, and it's going to look good this time," because of the influence Minecraft had.

My prediction ended up false.

Its coming soon. 1 - 2 years. A whole generation of spergs (my generation, and gen Z) disconnected from reality think that 90s graphics are intentional, delicate touches of artistic lo-fi'ism . They are reverse engineering dev hardware/software recovered from defunct studios and someone is going to release a bunch of shit that has gone to great lengths to look like Final Fantasy VII or Super Mario 64.

The thing is, no matter how 90s it looks, its going to look like shit. The 'artistic talent' that came into play involved a skill of utilizing very limited space/resources . Only true professional Japanese studio salarymen can do this shit and make it look stunning. that is the unique talent of the art of video games of old, not just the artistic technique alone .

Like im sure there's aready 1 or 2 steam games out that use pre-rendered backgrounds on purpose right ? And they probably look like they were done by an amateur. Highly annoying. Idk, it almost feels like fake retro games are just in bad taste no matter how you look at it. I actually envy the people who can look past this shit and enjoy the games, I am truly a stuck up cunt about it

Certainly, they existed... Those who made a hundred polygons look like a thousand. Those consumed with turning muddy, low-res textures into fine art. But here they do not exist. Only winners and losers here. For here, THE MINECRAFTERS RULE!

Santa Claus stopped by this afternoon and dropped off my monthly LEGO extortion payment (I caught him red-handed flying a sleigh without a permit and his reindeer vaccinations were out of date too--I've been holding it over his head ever since).

This shadow puppet projector was something weird/different!

Is he from something (cartoon, comic, etc.) or just an original vinyl figure design? I like the paper bag mask look.

Hes the icon of a japanese punk band, Balzac. Hes known as the atom age vampire as depicted on one of their albums.
These figures go for big money, and i was never gonna pay the going rate, so i talked my local punk record store owner into selling me his figure.

I'm guessing there's a bloody paint job variant too then? Never heard of that band, but, it's a very cool figure.

Made by Medicom, I believe. Bounty Hunter makes a lot of Balzac stuff, and there are a handful of Be@rbricks as well.

LEGO Marvel Avengers Iron Man Mech (148 pieces).

Tony Stark is the best fit for this line of mech figures because he actually does build stuff like this for himself (whereas Thor, Spider-Man, etc. don't). This articulated battle suit and its' mini figure pilot look and play great, but, all of these Marvel character mechs are also essentially the same toy, and that grows repetitive--LEGO needs to get more creative designing these to make them stand out more from one another.

The one thing this figure has, that the other mechs don't, is a shoulder-mounted, button-stud friction-firing cannon. Alas, it doesn't shoot far or with much force (it's rather anemic compared to the ones I've gotten in other Ninjago and Star Wars kits lately), but, it's still a welcome action feature.

I like that the mini figure sports too different looks on the unhelmeted head cylinder (one with a HUD overlay on Tony's face, one plain)--I wish they'd included a black hair piece too though. You also get two transparent blue energy effects for his hands.

I love Iron Man, and this is an excellent LEGO interpretation of him (affordable too, at only ten bucks), but, the more of these Marvel mechs that you buy, the less "wow" factor they have because they're too similar to one another. 4.5/5.0 stars.

This came in the mail today too:

"Anakin, I have the higher ground, you crazy fook! Padme's pussy wasn't worth it!"

"Obi-Wan, have you seen M's stacks of Imperial and Clone Trooper LEGO sets? Come play in the Emperor's Throne Room and see what happens. You're the one that's fooked, middle-aged man. And Padme's royal poon was totally worth it!"

"But, Anakin, you were the chosen one!"

"I've chosen the LEGO collectard side of the Force, Kenobi. There are only empty bank accounts and maxed-out credit cards for me now."

"Anakin, nooooooooooo!!!"

My most recent LEGO arrivals, mostly smaller-medium sets this time (I already showed Duel on Mustafar, but, it was part of this order and came earlier than scheduled). That Minecraft Wool Farm is kind of lame looking, even by M's almost nonexistent standards--those are some fugly sheep, like the kind of things Teletubbies would fuck ugly!
