Yes!

I've played Valis III on the TG-16, and Super Valis IV on the SNES, and both were excellent games with sharp controls and good challenge.

If you're playing it on the pc-engine then yes long as it's valis 1,3,4.Some call it a castlevania knock off i guess,it's kind of similar to that since it's a action platformer.

By the way valis II is the weakest one in the series for the pc-engine but it has a really good sound track.

i had IV on pc engine and it was reasonably fun gameplay wise, the soundtrack was awesome though. I'd say it was more than worth the 5 bucks I paid for it but I wouldn't hunt it down if it was worth anything (no idea if it is)

A Japanese anime type hack and slash platformer with cool cutscenes and soundtracks. Nothing life changing for me in fact I cant keep track which ones I've played or even which are which and keep up with the story. Don't think I've cared enough to beat any of them. Worth a few hours of play here and there.
Does have a cult following though so some people must really love them.

Valis III is a poor man's Castlevania III. Which isn't an insult, honestly.

They're all painfully slow, from the player's running speed to the text scrolling.

There's something remarkably bland about the games but at the same time they have such a charm to them...it may take a while for you to understand what I mean, hell I can't even explain it.

Never played Syd of Valis. Wish I had.

Valis IV on SNES is shit. When they changed the main character, yeah, lost all interest.

Oh shit, do you like Sailor Moon?
If yes, you will like Valis.
Simple as that.

Yes, they're great. This series and Cotton and many others are what made me confused when people complained there were no game heroines.

I have Syd of Valis on a real Genesis cart.

It's weird. I played it to completion once and then never played it again.

the only one i've played is the SNES game. i thought it was just ok, and i'm sure now it was probably one of the weaker games

I would say Super Valis IV on SNES is not bad at all. The controls work pretty well.

Everyone hates on it because it doesn't have the ability to switch to secondary characters like the PCE version does. So it's more or less like playing Castlevania 3 and being stuck as Simon (or whichever) Belmont the whole time. Still fun though, and it's in English.

This seems dead on to me. There's a porn version too, but I've never played it.

You're playing it on the wrong console then, though syd of valis is a parody of valis II.The best way to play the series is on the turbografx 16.
