Used to like Joe Montana's Sports Talk Football on the genny. And I remember liking several of the Madden games on the SNES/Genny. Im not even a football fan but they were fun.

And of course:



Them little dudes that would whip around the rink were fun to play.

I grew up playing a ton of NBA Live 95 and Tecmo Super Bowl for Super Nintendo- both are really good. NBA Live 95 is honestly a top 10 snes game for me, just too bad no Jordan.

A bunch of the Mario Sports games are good, my favorites are Mario Tennis: Power Tour on the GBA and Mario Superstar Baseball on the Gamecube.

If you count racing- Nascar Thunder 2003 & Nascar Dirt to Daytona are my favorite stock car games ever and two of my favorite games of all time with really deep career modes that haven't been replicated even today.

Pro wrestling the Fire Pro series is great with Fire Pro World on the PC being the definitive version.
