August is around the corner so why not start a voting thread for Beat'em Up Of The Month. I don't know how to do polls, so post up your votes and I'll tally them by hand. I had a hard enough time narrowing it down to 5, so don't make me narrow it down to 3 :lolz:.

  1. Sengoku 1 (Neo Geo) [3]
  2. Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara (Arcade, Saturn, PS3/360/PC) [5]
  3. Alien vs. Predator (Arcade) [3]
  4. Golden Axe (Arcade, Genesis, PC Engine) [1]
  5. Knights of the Round (Arcade, SNES) [1]

I'll prolly be the only one that votes for Sengoku :(

I'll back your vote, I love all these games, but since I can play this one on the cab, that's more incentive for me :)

Some of these console ports listed for the aforementioned games are so radically different from the originals, it's not even funny. KOTR SNES has no extends, and obviously no more than three enemies on screen at a time.

PC-Engine Golden Axe controls so differently to the point where it's practically unplayable. I understand separate tables can be made, but shooting for some type of uniformity should be they way to go as far as sharing strats, and actually creating some sense of a competitive playing field.

EDIT: Hell why stop there. Why not add Super Famicom and Mega CD Sengoku.

Hey, nice survey.

Let's see what games the guys bring to the table, first.

No need to worry if everybody's playing on the same boards.

I had no idea Sengoku was ported to other systems.

We could keep it arcade original only, but honestly the turnout hasn't been great for the past two months so the more people willing to play the better in my opinion, regardless of the platform.

I'm still planning on tossing up a few scores for PUN and BS, as soon as I get a chance.

Got swamped this month. :eek:/:vik:

But things seem to be cooling down now. :mr_t:

Looking forward to next month's games too. :)

The Sengoku ports have the same issue across all platforms lol. Dodgy hit detection, and that'sreally the main thing that kills it.

Actually, the hit detection in SFC Sengoku is ok. But it's not even fair to call it a port. It's a completely different game, and I was being facetious in suggesting it.

D&D gets my vote since it's also available on Xbox Live (for those that don't own on CPS2 or any ported version).
