Time to import:

Capcom sets a Japanese launch date for this updated version of the arcade and Dreamcast original.

Capcom has announced the Japanese release date for Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro for the Sega Dreamcast. The game will be released on June 14 in Japan. Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro is a slight update of the original arcade and Dreamcast fighting game, and it includes two new characters. They are Joe Higashi from the SNK camp and Dan Hibiki from the Capcom side. Additionally, unlockable characters from the original game will now be available as default fighters.
A North American release has not been announced at this time.

The Arcade version of Capcom VS SNK Pro is already out in Japan. I'm not sure about the us. I'm going to be making a trip to the local distributors (in the next 2 weeks) to inquire about Sengoku 3. I'll ask then.

Looks like its gonna be import only.. if the PS2 version of CvS2 is gonna be ready for Sept, it doesnt give a whole lot of time for a US DC version to come out of CvS Pro. No mention of a US version anywhere either..

In my opinion, it's better this way. Capcom USA is better off spending more effort on our version of CvS2. I'm glad CvS Pro was released somewhere though, this way those people who like the game enough can import it if nothing else.

It makes sense this way...
In an area like Japan where there are many more gamers, you can release literally anything and get good sales for a game, especially if it's a fighter from Capcom or SNK.

However, in the US it would be almost pointless to release CvS Pro at this point. Everyone knows that CvS2 is due in the arcades in a few months, with the PS2 (and DC) releases following very close behind. They're more likely to just wait to CvS2, especially since the US will probably not get CvS Pro for the arcades either.

It's sad to see things this way, but it's true...

But I buy all my fighting games on import anyhow, so I'll have them regardless.
