They are paying tuning companies to please pay attention to their car.

Sounds like they want to get into the "drifting" market or something...

the hyundai genesis will be coming out soon. apparently there's a 4 door variant with 300+ horses and a V8 with rear wheel drive. from hyundai! what the fuck?
Yeah, it's a luxury car and it will have 375 hp.

The Genesis coupe will have 300 hp from a V6.

at first i loved it. then when the specs came out just recently i hated it.

but now im starting to love it again.

my next car is going to be either:

4th gen ss or ws6 (least likely since ive already got one...minus the engine)
5th gen ss
c5 z06
or c6 z06 (only if they follow the current trend and hit sub 40k.)

we'll see.

im not a "vette guy" really. i dont have any gold chains, have no reservations about hitting the rev limiter, and plan on driving it on more than just the weekend.
as lame as it sounds i really want to give gm the sale for a new camaro.

im thinking about doing this:

theres one last session for the season in early sept.

I'm sort of the same way. I still don't think it's the prettiest car on the road, but the drivetrain and weight is way more solid than the challenger I have on order. Plus the current rumor is the base price will start at 29,995. I might cancel and take my chances trying to get a camaro ss early next year.

Dodge's suspect build quality is playing into this too. Shit like the rear bumper flapping in the wind at 60mph+ and them having trouble getting the t6060 working correctly with thier differential (it's why there aren't any manual rts on the road yet aside from a couple test builds...they're being delayed to fix the issue) are definately things I'm not too crazy about.

Dodge build quality scares me too.

Last weekend I was browsing a used Lexus sales lot when I heard a loud boom about 150 feet away. I looked toward the sound to see a Ram 2500 swerve, glance off a retaining wall and arc its way to collide with the street curb. The passenger front tire had blown out causing the driver to lose control.

Surveying the damage sent chills up my spine. The passenger door had mostly sheared off after colliding with nothing more than a street curb. None were hurt or injured so it was a good crash.

Its important that the passenger cabin stay intact during a collision.

when i hit a curb only the wheels and front control arms needed to be replaced. engine cradle was fine, frame was fine, and rear end was fine. i cant believe the axle didnt bend.

:emb:

both our jeeps and dodge truck have had bad a/c evap cores. bad rear gate struts on the jeeps.

but i cant say theyve ever been in an accident or have had shit just falling apart.

i assume you mean for the 'base' ss? (ie no options.) thats what most have been saying.

the v6 should start only a few thousand over the v6 mustang. like $22-24ish or so.

almost every comment field on blogs with camaro articles has people going "YEAH ITS GOT MORE HP BUT ITLL BE $40-45k!! IT'LL NEVER SELL! WHERES THE ENTRY LEVEL V8?"

i think theyll be pretty surprised.
