The unmasking of The Stig was all over the news.
Quite a funny event.
The episode was real good, enough car talk and silly shenanigans to appeal to anyone.

bump.

ive been trying to make my fiero somewhat presentable for the local car show in mid august.

the prices of little interior/exterior bits add up really quick.

I was at Sutter's Mill last weekend and I happened upon this beauty.

Its a Chrysler Saratoga...

Can anyone help me pin the exact year?

Killer V8 Miata! Ever run it through the quarter mile? Have to be getting mid-high 11s with that thing. Awesome.

By the way not sonic, nice Fiero. :) I have an '86 fastback myself. One of these days I'll upload some pics.

cool, any mods?

im really not liking the 2.8l at all. i've had the 3.4l in my camaro for almost 5 years and i'm totally happy with it (its slow but it feels good and its torquey enough.) but in the fiero its just i dunno. maybe its the trans, or that little bit of displacement and few advancements really made a difference. (sfi, dis, etc.) or its just in worse condition.

the camaros getting an ls* one day but i dont know what i want to put in the fiero. im pretty against a v8 swap. ive been more or less set on the series II 3800sc but im also considering a TDC 3.4l, or just rebuilding the 3.4l from my camaro, and possibly with an sc or turbo for either. turbos a bit of a mess as far as space is concerned and i dont know if id want the extra heat. a centrifugal sc would be pretty straight forward and fit well considering i dont need the power steering on either. ive seen some eaton kits for grand ams and such but theyre hard to find and they dont replace the intake anyway, plus i dont think itd fit in a fiero.

either way ill be going with the 4t65e-hd or getrag 5 speed. this 3 speed auto blows.:emb:

edit:
the llt and ly7 are cheaper than i thought. the newer 3.6l dohc v6's. the one in the camaro makes 300hp. the pushrod 3.5l and 3.9l are also really cheap. hmm.

My wife and myself have come up with a vehicle game plan...

Keep the current '06 Freestyle for two more years and move into a new SHO...trade the Mazda in on a truck for winter (or other acceptable 4x4 snow option)...drive the SHO when its nice outside, drive the truck when its not...

Man I love that new SHO, what a cool car....twin turbo V6, AWD, beautiful interior...I can't wait.

38k is an appropriate price.
history has shown that Ford dealers don't know how to sell such cars tho. You will prolly be able to get some deals.

I'd drive one.

For what you get...it is. For $42K it comes with some seriously nice options/features that many cars for $10-15K more don't offer.

I can't get over the hp and AWD....I bet that thing is fun to drive.
