i would contribute to this; looking at the list for the nearest PHX hospital they really want Move and Kinect stuff. it'd be awesome to get a higher dollar item since so many people will opt for the cheaper gifts.

I gave 20 bucks last year to the guys doing Desert Bus. http://desertbus.org/

It was the same thing for me last year when I tried looking up the place that was nearest me to donate. Almost all of the normal priced items were snapped up with the more expensive game systems and toys being the ones left. So I just gave my money to them because they always come through with a giant check to help the kids out. And for playing Desert Bus? They deserve a couple of bucks for sitting through that game.
