I was browsing the neo geo forever group on facebook and ran into these crystal boxes. I am pretty excited to have more alternatives to the overly expensive kaiser cases.. Hopefully these crystal cases are good to go and are high quality, i think the neo geo logo is a nice feature but I read in the comments he offers them without it if you would prefer it that way. Apparently the price is 17.75 euros not including shipping (from france)..

I am happy to hear they claim to have UV protection but want to see what people think when they get them in hand and try them out... What do you guys know about these?

They are so nice you will be needing a protector to protect that protector. And so on.

I bought a case like this when I bought a homecart of SSVS unfixed. It was the first time I had spent four figures on a game, so I wanted to protect the snaplock and insert. Well, I actually played the game, a lot. Every day I was playing SSVS, and every single time I had to take it out of the protective case in order to play it. That got old fast. I enjoy my games for more than shelf pieces, so I ditched the case and never looked back. If you play your games with any sort of frequency, which you should lol, they get in the way. Just take good care of your games, and know where to grab snaplocks so you won't press the insert into the empty spaces.

If you're worried about dust (dust will still get in these cases), buy a box of Swiffers. If you're worried about UV light, put drapes on your windows. I just don't get the point of these things if you actually play your games. If you only collect AES games and not play them, then put them in as many boxes as you want I suppose. They make great conversation pieces for the 0-1 people that will ever visit your home that knows what they actually are. 😉

I've seen folks that will only touch their AES carts with latex gloves on, so I suppose these cases are not quite as obnoxious as that. That is, unless it's a pair of latex gloves with a Neo-Geo logo...

I jest (mostly) 🙃, but I don't think there's a lot of love for stuff like this around the forums. Like Dig said, just don't bend the snaplock all the way back, and don't touch your cases with Cheeto hands, and you'll be golden.

Yes i do play my games often so i know they would be a pain in the ass. I am moving in a few months for my new job and it would be nice to be able to protect my games during the move but i do think these would get old putting them in and out.

I mainly just wanted everyone to see these as they are cheaper then the kaiser cases which i think are extremely overpriced.. If your in the market for these type of cases then these would save you quite a bit over the kaiser cases..

When you move you should transport your games outside the box. Bubble wrap both the cart & the box separately. Imagine all the cracks in the box when the cart moves inside.

I don’t think the Kaiser cases are even made any more. Also, I can confirm it’s a bitch to get games in and out of them so they basically become tombs for stuff you don’t really play any more.
