Yes, yes, I saw Tekken Tag listed under Naomi hardware somewhere and propagated some bogus info. Thanks for the corrections all! Now for the edit function and some revisionist history... <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

And by the way... getting back to the original question... I guess I had 2 concerns but I did not articulate them well:

1. Capcom is obviously pushing the PS2 version. Can we therefore expect them to put all of the effort into this version and not the Naomi/DC version? Or given the power of the arcade at least in Japan, does the Naomi version have to be the best?

2. Technical problems with the PS2 notwithstanding, is the PS2 capable of better graphics than the DC? The consensus is that the DC has better gameplay. But most of all, will the capabilities of either console be maximized? Suppose gameplay on both consoles is the same but PS2 has more characters and looks better? I know that the DC is more powerful, but is Capcom willing to use that power to give the DC better overall gameplay?

The direction that all of this is taking is that there is much to fear here. It seems that whether I stay on the DC or move to the PS2 I could get burned. And now the rumors of Namco on the Gamecube and MAME on the X-box? My head is exploding, help!!! <IMG SRC="smilies/loco.gif" border="0">

See how stupid that is? Great games will always be great, so where's the joke? Keep the damn system unless you are too poor to keep it, of course. Keep in mind I still play SNES games all the time.

If you are selling a DC for a PS2, yes, I'm serious, I have little respect for that.

SNES? Man, I still play my NES! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

The DC version will take minmal effort, since it's already on Naomi. In CvS1, the DC arcade mode is virtually identical to the Naomi version. Almost that Capcom had to do for the DC version was add all of the options, secrets, and play modes.

Also, Capcom's arcade ports have traditionally been very similar across the various consoles. I will be very surprised if one version has characters that the other
will not.

PS2 blows ass. We'll just have to wait and see how CvS2 fairs out versus the DC version.
With all these stupid kids buying the PS2 off of its name, and just shrugging off the DC, it was doomed. Frankly, I can't stand most 3D games (about 98%). Hopefully the DC will form some kind of cult following like the NeoGeo and keep releasing 2d fighters for the next 10 years <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Yeah it's really a shame. The DC had EVERYTHING going for it: great games, online play, the best memory card ever, broadband connection, very reasonable prices for hardware and software, the best home arcade stick I have ever used, etc.

Usually I don't give two rats' asses about what "most" people like or think, but with the crowds go the development, and right now that means to PS2.

It has been a good run anyway, for those of us still supporting the console. Even if CvS2 isn't released, I'll still be very satisfied that I spent $150 on the machine.

Although Sega blew it a couple times in the past, I would say that the consumers blew it this time. All too eager to buy the Playstation 2... spending upwards of $1000 before it had any notable games...

Ridiculous.
