DDR pads

I'm going to go all out on my arcade machine, so I've decided that I want to mod my ps2 and get it to work on my soon to be cab. I have a bunch of friends who play ddr, and also like it myself. I was wondering if anyone has tried the metal dance pads, and if so, which ones are better? The two that I'm looking at are the tx-2000 ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8187937812&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1 ), and the tx-5000 ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8188029490&fromMakeTrack=true ) I Think the 5000 looks cooler, but am anxious that the panels are not seperated (it's also quite a bit more expensive). I also like how the 2000 has the light-up panels, but it doesn't seem like it has all the panels that the 5000 has (2000 looks like only 6, while 5000 has 8). What do you guys think?... has anyone actually tried both of these, and preffers one over the other?
Thanks.

I would avoid both those pads as they tend to break down fairly quickly unless you wouldn't mind doing a fair amount of pad modding. Check out the cobalt flux pads. They're a little pricey, but well worth the money. Mine has lasted about a year with no problems at all.

What do you mean by "pad modding"? Those cobalt ones sound nice, but ARE pretty expensive (especially if I would still need to pay shipping), and I'm also all about modding things... I take pride in making the worst of things everyone's favorite ;) .
