Demise of an arcade

Well, 1 of the local arcades to me closed at the start of last week and they have been clearing it out for demolition this Friday(this is the one I'm rescuing the megalo from). I went today to get the dimensions of the cab but had a good walk round taking plenty of pics and blagging anything interesting I could find.
This place holds 30 years of memories for me so it was both awesome and sad at the same time.. the owner is hoping to put up a new single story building(lower rates supposedly) in the future but it was the end of an era for me... Unhappy

Aye, most of the cabs have been moved to storage and the owner *plans* to put a newer smaller (less rates and taxes) arcade... nice big set of flats is being built next door though so it wouldn't surprize me if they acquire the land..

Yeah buddy, that's true. I was just glad I got to go there and take snaps, save a machine or two and give the place a decent send off :-)

That's my worry, but when I was talking to the owner I got the gut feeling he liked the games, he chatted to me about the old games like defender and stuff I'd like to have a good rummage through that store room though

Here's a brief vid of it from about 7 weeks ago, I was scouting the place for a group buy. But the owner was asking big buck for most of the machines. I do know who got the F355 though :-)

Pretty hard to comprehend that it went from this video to those photo's above. Literally, looks like a bomb site.

Plenty of decent machines too, sans the F&F one. I fuckin' hate those. They're shite.

The Ace Driver cab is particularly cool imo. What happened to that?
