I would love to break open those cases. No tools, just me and the case. That would be such a good stress relief.
For you buddy, cheers!

That video totally wasn't embedded on page 2 of this thread
Did he say he still wants VGAy (LOL XD) games, but just not Golf? In that case: fuck him too.
PS. That did look like a lot of fun. If I got hold of someone's 85+ sealed Ocarina of Time, for example, I wouldn't stop at the case. Oh no, that golden motherfucker is getting ground to dust.
A nightmare to all VGA collectors, unboxing of sealed games

I wonder how many of those graded games are clever reseals? XD You know peeps are getting fucked.
That's definitely a possibility. I went to a convention where one of the vendors bragged that he could reseal a game perfectly...H-seam and all. He even added: "you'd need to open the box to be able to tell."
There are certain things to look for (I won't get into them now) but, I'm pretty sure, if you know what you're doing, have the equipment, etc. it can be done.

haha Now I'm envisioning one of those E.T. burials being sent in for grading, with a half-corroded and barely readable cover.LOL, what's the point of VGAing a game with a fucked up box. An even stupider fuck than the normal stupid fucks.

Well then, $2000 sold. XD
Yes! I remember this one from a few years back. Brought the lulz then, and brings the lulz now. That box looks like it was shoved up someone's ass and shit back out.
I wonder how much money was wasted getting it graded.
If someone actually paid $2000 for that, they got royally screwed. Not only because of the piss-poor condition, despite it being sealed, but, that's not even the original release version. Black round seal, hang tab box, 5 screw cart, no country code, and no NES-GP...that's the one you want. Opened, of course.
If I had to guess how much it costs (per game) to get VGA graded, it's probably under $50 each. They're very picky about condition when it comes to sealed stuff but, let's put it this way: 85 is beautiful, flawless condition, IMO. If you get any higher than that, it's because the factory, miraculously, did a better job shrinkwrapping the game.
Yes, they rate the fucking quality of the shrink wrap. They send you a letter explaining, in detail, why it got the grade it did. Oh, and they seal it in ultra hard plastic so you can never enjoy the game you paid hundreds...possibly thousands of dollars for.

Funny thing is big tymers will snap 'em up at those prices, with or without a grade apparently...

I can't understand why people would keep these games sealed and never play them.
For a instance, I collect comics. As far as physical copies go, I focus on vintage comics from the 30's to 60's. Preferably graded as I want to preserve them.

Last time I purchased sealed "classic" games it was about five years back when I was finishing up my loose NES library. Just wanted clean fresh carts. Opened up the sealed copies, kept the game, sold the boxes and never looked back.
I'd do the same today if people weren't being crazy with some of the pricing for titles that are otherwise crap and go for pennies in loose cart form. I can understand sealed games commanding a premium, but I can't understand why people would keep these games sealed and never play them.
So do you read your vintage comics? I used to collect Vintage X-men comics and read them once in a while, flipping through the pages makes me nervous as heck as I don't want to damage it.
