Early Pulstar? Conversion?

All I wanted to do was pay current goob tax on a clean Pulstar and I ended up with this shit.
Just want to confirm whether it’s legit early or unholy conversion.
and if it is just early anything to worry about? I figure everything has long been dumped by now.
The SNK eeprom labels are interesting but right next to a few very less interesting. Thanks.

Could definitely be a preview build or review copy of the game with those SNK stickers. Absolutely not a bootleg.

Those boards are also not on mvs-scans at all. Get nice pictures or scans and email em in.

I can understand your misgivings, but this looks pretty good. I would cover up the window on that one bare EPROM and just enjoy the game.

The Unibios CRC check would appear to confirm that the P roms are already known.

Yep, thats legit. Given the factory label, SNK stickers, and some mask ROMs with NGH #, I'd say this is an early cart / maybe factory repair. I'd be totally comfortable with that cart.

Just cover the EPROM with the exposed window (I'd use electrical tape) and enjoy!

I also think the same as the others, it may be an early version of pressing, cover that eprom with insulating tape and enjoy it.

This is the PULSTAR pcb I recently obtained from Japan.

I never think of it as a repaired item because it looks the same as mine.
I think it's probably the initial production.
