I get up and nothin' gets me down
You got it tough, I've seen the toughest around
And I know, baby, just how you feel
You got to roll with the punches and get to what's real

What a legend Van Halen was
RIP

Sad news indeed. When I applied for American citizenship, one of the questions was, "Do you like Van Halen?"
Spoiler:
OK, that's not true... But it should be, dammit! :crying:

The man and the band played a role in my teenage years and young adulthood that cannot be measured. As giant a figure in my life as Robert E. Howard, Gary Gygax, Walt Simonson and John Byrne (who have always been my favorite comics creators).

RIP

Thanks for giving me and my friends so much fun music to listen to when we were young and felt indestructible.

Steel and magic, that was what we were made of back then.

Thanks for all the music, Eddie.

Someone needs to tell all the Muslims that there are no more virgins in heaven since Eddie arrived.

Does Noah have an Ark in heaven?

Anyone else think guy's a multi-millionaire and still died at 65 and think what chance we've got?

A poor person's lot is to die old and miserable. Enough already do that to prove the thesis.

Anyway, Kurgen once famously said:

It's better to burn out than to fade away.

Well he chainsmoked, drank like a fish, had a terrible diet, did all the drugs possible far 45 years straight and got throat cancer.

All of us combined wouldn't have enough cash to buy all the drugs that dude did.

It's a loss for sure. I havent really listened to VH in quite a long time. I think the last record I bought was Balance? (it was terrible). But there's no denying Eddie changed the face and course of music and guitar playing. He influenced SO many guitar players out there, myself included, though I'm not .00001% as good as he was.
