Hi all been a not so active of these boards for many years, close to 20!! I used to own a Electrocoin MVS machine about 10 or so years ago but had to sell due to a house move. Always regretted selling it and finally have another. Here are some pics....

Currently have completely cleaned the machine. It was also not working correctly so had to adjust the 5v line, now its perfect. I have also completely cleaned the 6 slot cover and next ill spray it a nice silver. Am going to replace the control panel overlay as well as all sticks, buttons as well a swap out the old battery and get a unibios in there. I have adjusted the picture as well as all individual pots and the picture is amazing! Looking forward to sharing more as the restoration comes together!

Enjoy and take it easy (y)

Jamie

p.s on a side note if anyone has a memory card reader I would like to add one unless there is an aftermarket option being made?

Nice! Grew up playing on those.

Considering a Lordsvale cab myself at the moment.

I'm curious as to why it only has 5 marquee slots with a 6 slot board.

In the UK I believe Electrocoin produced two dedicated Neo Geo MVS machines, the one I have in the pics (5 row marquee) and a slightly larger one with a marquee that has 6 games. (3 at the top and another 3 below) My machine displays 5 games but comes with a 6 slot board and the other one the same. No idea the reason behind it but the larger marqee is a taller machine so maybe they wanted to make two different form factors.

I assume it still plays six games like any other six slot?

I've only ever had 1 & 2 slot boards.
Are the 6 slots as finicky as I've heard?

I have had two six slot cabs and to be honest they are not too bad. You have to absolutely clean the slots out really really well and also the cartridges. After that I very rarely have any issues. Now and then I'll have to remove, clean and reseat a cart but that's it. The only other thing is the 5v power supply needs to be decent and usually if it has a adjustable pot that needs to be all the way up to provide the correct amount of power to the board otherwise you will get a constant reset. 6 slot boards require more power so it's a good idea to use a multimeter to measure the volts going into the board and adjust the power supply to get as close to 5v as possible 👍

The bland internal documentation of design choices is probably still somewhere out there.

Yeah it was just the UK way. It was a similar situation with the 4 slots - not the perfect fit.

No idea why... The only other vaguely popular multi cab setup over here was the megatech and that would have wanted 8 slots... Though I could see maybe only 3-6 options being popular numbers over here where operators were not quite as good as complete/full-on as overseas....

On the flip side it is kind of nice to have something that feels very uniquely uk.... Sea-side-arcade style (at least to me)
