Anyone check this out? I'm looking for more sci-fi and I heard this is quite good, and available on Netfliques.

"D'ARGO? ZHAAN?"

(Chrichton stumbles around the ship, gun drawn.)

That's the impression I took from the series as a casual viewer during the original run.

I watched it all. It's a bit campy, but the seris is fun, quirky, and doesn't get as obnoxious as some other sci fi.

It's basically they make the main character a little more angry each show. That goes of for about 3 seasons or so, just pissing him off a little more each episode. Then by the final episode the make him so angry he can use his anger to destroy everything so all the bad guys have to stop pissing him off. Show's over, the end.

I just couldn't get into it. I thought I gave it a good try because Slerch wanted me to.

And I'm close to finishing Voyager...

If you don't mind the muppets, cheesy costumes, and occasional silliness it's a great show. First season is a little disjointed but it picks up after Scorpius replaces Crais as the villain.

Agreed. Something I did like about the show was that every character eventually redeemed themselves. No matter how much you hated a character, you would eventually understand them enough to accept what they were doing.

Slight spoiler, but the series also had the awesome idea of using a man-made wormhole as a weapon. Open one end inside a star, open the other end next to a planet. Cook for 2 minutes.

Ok i had to watch a few episodes. I like the art style and puppets. It's less serious than Star Trek.

Middle of season 3 now. Still finding it watchable.

I never understand when an Earth man is teleported, they always have to make Earth references no one would understand. It's like that in every show.
Earthman -"These darn tyderian space ships are faster than a 69' Corvette on Route 66. yeeeeee hawwww"
Alien-"Huh?"
Earthman-"Oh, never mind. I'll explain it to you some day"

I think that was part of the charm of the show, how John realized how ridiculous he appeared to the aliens, but just kept being himself, a dorky american dude who happened to be an astronaut, completely out of his element.
