I don't know. I'm using an Xbox 360 stick with a Brook 360-to-Xbox One converter. It's still working fine.
I think I read somewhere that there was some initial fear that Brook stuff would stop working but it all appears to work fine. My pseudo-cab uses Brook PCBs, which is what I'll mostly be using to play this game when I stop being lazy and move the Xbox to that room.

I really need a PS5.

The tearing and shimmer on PS4 suuuuuuuck.

1st big stutter/glitch fight last night (of many) against a PC. We both had good signal; this is after the most recent update. Game is more difficult, and plays worse online, ugh.

Wish I could uninstall the latest update.

Microsoft did an update a while back that borked a lot of third party adapters and controllers.

My Brook Wingman XB no longer works after the update. You get a notice that the device is no longer supported and a 30 day window before it's locked out. I read some workarounds like initially plugging the device in on a 2nd profile or never getting online, but who knows if that works. Brook immediately came out with an updated XB3 model that solves the issue. The original XB Wingman is now being sold as a retro adapter for OG Xbox and 360 only.

Like Neo Alec mentioned the older Brook 360-to-One adapter still works without any issues (or updates).

Game came in the mail yesterday, snuck an hour or so in before I had to conk out for the night.

The animated intro was neat and the remixed tune from FF1's 2P mode/Street Smart was a neat retro warm fuzzy.

Fired it up and did arcade mode with my boy Terry, Kevin Rian beat me in the first round. I felt like the biggest n00b ever. So I went back and did the tutorials to familiarize myself with the new systems and while I did them all, I remembered like....two of them. Not sure if the game has it, but I'd like something more robust that requires me to use these in more practical ways via training or challenges.

Went back, played Arcade Mode and beat it with Terry and Marco, while still playing the game like it's MOTW and with none of it's fancy new systems. I fully recognize that this is a me problem, not a game problem, as apparently my ability to learn and get skilled at new fighting game mechanics ended in my mid 30s.

Arcade Mode is arcade mode, still fun and old school. Terry's final boss story bit prior to the fight had some major "Somehow Palpatine returned..." energy to it which was disappointing, but the ending after was fine.

Marco's was ridiculous and enjoyable, though I'm not sure why SNK tossed the AOF timeline out the window and showed Ryo and Yuri in what looked to be their early 30s. AI seemed pretty bad at dealing with Marco's long range fireball spam, but I was playing on level 3 so higher difficulties may respond differently.

Poked at EOST with Mai for a few quick fights. Looks like a fun mode, though I can also foresee it maybe getting grindy. We'll see. I got an update pop-up stating that with the next update you'll be able to earn EOST exp playing in other modes that you can apply to any character, which is nice.

Overall though, I've gotten a great first impression from it. Plays well, looks great, sounds great. Good job SNK.

The level 3, is 3 of 5-so don’t feel bad for getting stomped about for a bit.

Just Defend is way more prominent in this game…easier to pull off than MotW, but you will use it more in CotW.

Just do the tutorial ad naus until you muscle memory it. Like learning to drive stick shift in a car, once you get it down cold-it’s so rewarding and fun.

I play about 65% MotW bread and butters, 30% new system links/cancels/combos (REV and air SPG stuff is f u n and super satisfying to pull off) with about 5% luck/whiffing redline arts.

After spending almost a week with it, I’m loving this game on SamSho 2019 levels…and I didn’t think SNK had it in them to top that one.

EOST is pretty fun and I don't feel it's grindy. It's SF6 open-world mode without the open-world. Each character's story arch takes ~1 hour to complete to see all the bits, then the "South Town +" map opens for each character you beat EOST with. In +, it's the same map but the difficulty increases dramatically and it's a great way to practice what you've been working on in the lab. EOST also has Nightmare Geese and Fallen Rock in some of the characters' stories to fight - and Nightmare Geese looks fucking rad (and is hard as shit in + mode).

Each character's Arcade mode and EOST mode story is different as well, so if you're into Fatal Fury lore, worth seeing both.

Enjoy, man! I've also been surprised how much I'm enjoying the game. I don't have the time to "get gud" like I used to, but there's plenty to love and dive into here even if you don't go online.

Also: Buckled down last night and did EoST for Billy to get to EoST+ and that is definitely where you want to go for a challenge.

It gets notable harder (and more fun) at that point.

Getting a little more comfortable with it after a couple more hours. Beat Arcade mode with Mai and Rock.

Sokaku's voice actor is hilariously bad. I also wonder if the endings will change at all once certain characters make it into the game, i.e. Andy.

Rock's ending was wholesome and delightful as fuck. It's so refreshing to have a main protag that's not a brooding, distant dickface. The cameo from a certain Art of Fighting character (not Mr. Big) was super forced and weird though, and again, hasn't aged a day even though they should be at least 30 years older.

Good lord the AI is cheap. It input reads like nobody's business. Thankfully still not AOF 2 levels though. Very cheeseable with fireball spam.

Played more EOST with Marco. Gets pretty repetitive real quick unfortunately, but the story bits are nice. Needs more variety in the "generic schmoes" you fight outside of the main roster and some more artwork to go with the story bits would be nice so you get more of a visual connection with what's going on.

Tried some of the missions to learn some bread and butter combos, but I find I'm just not fast and agile enough to pull them off. Considering getting a fight stick so my thumb doesn't have to travel so far across the buttons to make it easier. Playing it on PS5, open to recommendations.

Hard to go wrong with Hori if you don't want to do the custom thing.
Do you already have a stick that you like?
There might be an adapter to get you running.

I don't unfortunately, would be new to the console fight stick world. Always used standard d-pad controllers to play these since ye olde days of NeoRage X and that's what I became accustomed to, but I also think that's part of what's handicapped me in being able to do combos for a long time. That and force of habit, I've just been stuck with the "SF2/FF2" style of play for so long where I don't bother with combos and stick with making impactful single hits with normals, specials, and supers.

You can be viable with whatever.

Some of the best modern Fighter players play on pad.

I recently switched to a hitbox myself and had to sort of relearn a lot.

They also make the fighting commander octa pad.
It's a better layout than the stock PS5 for fighters.

Nice, thanks! Do you know if there's an adapter for it that would allow it to run on X-Box Series X as well? Dummy me bought KOF 15 on that platform.

I have this.

I've used it with PS4 controllers on my X before but haven't tried it since the recent Xbox updates.
The Hori stick I linked is PS4 compatible so there is a possibility there.
I also screwed up and bought XV for the X and in the end just bought it again for PS when I caught a sale.
