Mainly for those weird 80s-early 90s stuff that you remember fondly.

For me, its gotta be Supernaturals. Glow in the dark weapons and fucking holograms.

My favorites as a kid were all my TMNT figures and savage mondo blitzers were a close second

I used to play with my hands, a lot. I had turned them into characters, given them stories and arcs. They were superheroes and supervillains.

One guy was caught in a lab accident that turned him into a rock-like creature (a closed fist).

I can't remember any of those old stories now tho.

I didn't like action figures because I thought they were too limiting. I wanted to make my own characters. But I guess what kids did was create their own canon with those toys. It was blasphemy.

But anyways, I played video game 99% of the time if I was playing.

Masters of the Universe. I had almost every figure in the vintage line, so many, I kept them in a big plastic garbage can that was filled to the top. Star Wars, G.I.JOE and Transformers were also big ones for me.

Yup, Shogun Warriors is actually their western name. In Japan they were called Jumbo Machinder.

What were those called again? Totally forgot about them

Sectaurs.

Star Wars were the toys I actually played with.

With G.I. Joe and Transformers, I was more of a collector in the sense that I thought they looked really cool but by the mid 80s I was getting more serious about non toy geek hobbies like anime and comic books.

children hitting each other with video games seems so primitive. Maybe it was best for them be kept in cages after all.

Yeah, I had a friend who had 3 of the Shogun Warriors while I had none. That was rough. But the coolest action figure a friend had was the much smaller die-cast metal, transforming Raideen. I was had such a persistent, lingering jealousy of that one that I bought the reissue when it came out 30 years later. Now of course, it's in a box in a garage somewhere, but whatever. The closure of getting that out of my system was worth it.

And yeah, Micronauts were the shit. I had Space Glider and Acroyear. Fucking awesome. And I was glad I still had them when I discovered the comic a few years later.

The Micronauts comic is a masterpiece of adventure storytelling, IMO. Bill Mantlo and Michael Golden absolutely killed it. That comic absolutely would not exist today. There might be a Micronauts book but it wouldn't be anything like that.

As for Shogun Warriors, I owned Mazinga (not a typo, that's how it was spelled). Raideen (ironic, a Tomino super robot before Gundam) and Godzilla, who was marketed in the US as a Shogun Warrior. My cousin had Dragun. I believe another one called Gaiking came out as well but I don't remember what it looked like for the life of me.

I remember the Shogun Warriors comic book from Marvel as well. Doug Moensch and Herb Trimpe, who also did Marvels criminally underrated Godzilla comic.

I still have my Raideen die cast toy somewhere in the crawlspace toy bin. I remember its plastic fold over 'wings' that covered the arms in the flying configuration. I also remember it had this awkward landing wheel harness that was functional. It had a sword and launching arms, all of which I lost at some point.

Bismarck from Saber Riders & the Star Sheriffs.

I posted this an action figure thread. Found it couple months ago at my parents house. The ship got lost from the movers & the arm was broken off from an ex-friend.
