I haven't played this game. I just wanted to hear different people's opinion's about this game. Talk about anything about the game on this thread. I haven't played it yet and was wondering if it was any good. I heard that you can create your own fighter, but there is a set of pre-made fighters on the select screen. I also heard that if you wanted to save a fighter that you yourself created, it takes up an entire memory card. I just wanted to sure how this fighter rated. I have only seen it a few times and hardly anyone talks about it.

The dude at Babbages is over paid.

I have Fighter Maker. IT RULES!

Yes, a fighter does take up an ENTIRE Memory card...that sucks bad, but I bought a shit load of Performance Mem Cards (Honestly one of the better Value Mem Cards...I've never had a problem with them or heard of a problem).

My biggest disapointment was you couldn't modify your fighter physically. You have to pick one guy and that's it. You can't change the skin color, or make him fat...nothing. Which I understad because that would just make it a little bigger on the Memory.

Now you can do ANYTHING! I made Breakdance Fighter. He moonwalks everywhere. You press forward and he spins around and moonwalks .

You can make your jumps, how he walks, how he runs...everything.

Of course you can set up how they punch, kick, block, crouch. Anything you can think of.

I even made pseudo-projectile attacks. If you get it I'll show you how...it's to complicated to explain if you don't know the game.

The throws are the best part!! I created MASSIVE throw sequences...it's really cool.

However, it's EXCEPTIONALLY HARD to do something cool. I have a background in 3D modeling and I had a rough time with it as it is apparant that the in-game characters were made with Motion Capture.

It is VERY hard and the computer AI sucks beyond suck. There is no reason to 'play' this game. The best part is you make a character, your friend makes a character and you fight. That's really where the game shines as you start to compete for "Who has the coolest looking move" and "Who has the cheapest move" (cheap moves are really easy to make, just make a punch that does insane damage and is 1 frame long...FLASH and they'r dead).

I totally liked this game, but like I said I've done modeling and animation before so I did have a little bit of an advantage.

I REALLLLLLLY want a sequal to this game where you can download models and moves from the internet (mostly so I can make a model and use it ).

It's cool on a certain level. I wouldn't call it a 'game' as much as a very very cool toy.

It's not for everyone. It's definately a niche product of the highest order but it certainly doesn't "suck".

Fighter maker is a cool toy but you gotta have the patience for it. It takes a long time to do the simplest things. It also kinda defeats the purpose when you realize that you create all these cool-ass but you can only use them on a lame-ass version of Tekken.

BTW, I'm pretty sure you can get saves off the internet if you have a Dex Drive. It is practically essential if have these games.

If you are into making your own stuff I'd suggest RPG Maker made by the same company. It owns for real. To me it's easily of the best toys ever made.

I prefer the PC version. Actually there are SEVERAL PC version of different RPG Makers. It's a really popular thing. I liked Sphere.

It's cooler, at leat for me, because I can use Photoshop this way .

Shooter Maker was REALLY cool and I wish that made it statestide.

Dex Drives are a must for these games.

I remember years ago I saw a disc drive for PSX that allowed you to use 3.5" floppies as memory cards. It was about $100.

I remember stuff like this on the C-64 years ago. Shoot-em-up construction kit and pinball construction kit were my faves.

Too bad Fighter Maker doesn't allow you to make a 2D fighter.
