Hi Lads. I'm looking to expand my horizons and get a Twin Famicom. The appeal of the better sound for games like Metroid and Castlevania 3 has convinced me. If you have one to sell please let me know and how much you'd like. Gamer condition is ok, if you have a replaced belt even better. Ebay looks like people are looking for $160 to $200 for one. Not sure if thats accurate but I'm open to offers.

One of the models has longer cords than the others, IIRC its 505 model?

Fami twin can't be beat, good luck on the search.

It’s the turbo twin 505 models that have longer cords, but not that much longer. You can also hook up a nice joystick with extension cable to the db15 port. There’s a red and black 500 and 505 with slightly different case and trim, plus the 505 has built in turbo and longer controller cords.

Good luck on your hunt, they’re great little systems!

What's special about the sound on them? I didn't want to mod mine, so I gave mine to my brother and I stick with my Famicom and FDS.
The sound table on the disk games are the same as the FDS. But the twin uses only one power source instead of two and looks cool as heck.

Aren't there mods you can do to a toaster NES for this?

Anyway, you could just do a regular Fami/AV Fami with an Everdrive N8 if sound was the main issue. Not that it matters now that you already have the twin famicom lol.

Buy a Hudson Joycard next for that sweet auto fire.

The Everdrive uses FPGA to emulate the sound.

My understanding is that the audio filtering and balance varies by the model of Twin Famicom, so there are mods to improve it, but generally the stock sound is okay.l as Famicoms go.

Seems like when it comes to expansion audio, Famicoms are about as consistent as Mega Drives are with their primary audio (bad).
