Hi all,

Just a heads-up that I've started on a Frogger transcode for the Neo Geo. The transcode itself is about 18% complete at this point.

Like my Xevious project (which I still need to update), and unlike a lot of other conversion projects for the Neo Geo, this one is a manual RE and transcode, so it's going to take a few weeks at best, and probably a few months. This time though, I'm also going to attempt a non-tate version. Technically, it's going to be challenging, but I believe I've worked out how it might be done. If successful, I could go back and do the same for Galaxian as well, given it's almost identical hardware. Fingers crossed.

port for neo geo aes in physical cartridge?
If I thought I could sell more than 2 copies, then I'd consider it. But I don't think there's a market for Frogger that would warrant a physical release.

What may be feasible though, is a physical release with a collection of arcade transcodes. In addition to the projects I've done (incl. Apple II Lode Runner, Scramble, Xevious, Galaxian) there are a number of transcodes on the Amiga that I would be able to adapt given time. But realistically we're talking years rather than months here...

I'll buy 3 copies from you. I've always wanted a port of games like Frogger on Neo Geo AES or Solar Fox on Neo Geo AES.

For those that are interested, the transcode is now one-third complete! The game runs though all the attract mode screens (including gameplay), you can coin-up and start a game, and hop around the screen scoring 10pts for hopping forward as the timer runs down. When all frogs are dead it shows game over before returning to attract mode.

Arcade perfect frogger sounds great. It would certainly be more fun than some other titles in the library.
