We either had an insane amount of downtime or none at all this year, depending on family and circumstances. I had grad school, so I didn't get too much gaming in compared to last year, but I also dabbled in a lot of online games due to the pandemic. This year was full of revisiting older games or HD remakes of newer games

Gears of War - 360
Call of Duty Black Ops - PS3
Uncharted 2 - PS4
Metal Wolf Chaos XD - PS4
Shin Megami Tensei IV - 3DS
Grandia - PS1
Dragon Quest 1 - Switch
Bioshock - PS4
Soul Blazer - SNES
Devil May Cry 2 - PS3
Illusion of Gaia - SNES
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare - PS4
Uncharted 3 - PS4
Halo Anniversary - 360
Rez - PS2
Littlebigplanet - PS3
Chrono Trigger - SNES
Rayman Origins - Vita
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles - Wii
Littlebigplanet 2 - PS3
The Warriors - Xbox
A Way Out - PS4
Final Fantasy IV - SNES
Littlebigplanet 3 - PS4
Final Fantasy VII Remake - PS4
Ys VIII Lacrimosa of DANA - Vita
Borderlands 2 - PS4
Biomotor Unitron - NGPC
Diablo III - PS4 (put an ungodly amount of time in this)
Dementium The Ward - DS
Thor - DS
Might and Magic Clash of Heroes - DS
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth - DS
Pokemon Conquest - DS
Kirby's Dreamland 2 - GB

Total: 35

I don't think I beat a single video game this year to tell you the truth. I don't play much anymore, and when I do, it's usually stuff that's almost endless. Like, I play Scatter Slots a lot on my tablet, and I'm getting close to the 1,000th level after playing for over a year, but, there's 3,000+ levels and the developer is always adding more and a new slot every two weeks, so, it's a never ending battle until I get sick of it.

Wow, you have quite the variety of platforms ggallegos1. Good shit.

This year I told myself I wouldn't be buying games and just tried to tackle my steam backlog, but didn't actually finish much this year:

Bucky O'Hare - NES
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified - PC
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - PC
Dropsy - PC
Gigantic Army - PC
Half Life - PC
Half Life: Opposing Force - PC
Half-Life: Blue Shift - PC
Jet Set Radio - PC (had it on 360, replayed on pc this year. Fun fact: won a contest and I have graffiti that's in these JSR re-releases as well as Sonic All Star Racing Transformed)
Loom - PC
Super Castlevania IV - SNES
Tokyo Xtreme Racer - DC
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap - PC
Yakuza Kiwami 100% - PC

Gears 1
Gears 2
Gears 3
Gears Judgement
Gears 4
Gears 5

I think I beat Borderlands 3 (PS4) at the end of '19. But that mighta been at the beginning of '20. Don't quite recall. I mostly played BL3, Minecraft & the Gears series. Didn't really get into other shit this last year

I've always enjoyed Parasite Eve, but that Crystler Building was ridiculous. Never had the patience to grind to beat it, good on you man

Hot damn, Geo! That's a hell of a list!

Here's mine for the year - roughly 2-3x what I do in a normal year. I suck at finishing games, so I was pretty pleased with this
Kings Field 2 PS1
Mario Galaxy WII
Def Jam Fight for NY PS2
Eternal Ring PS2
Animal Crossing New Horizons
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Snowboard Kids
Bio Freaks
Persona 5 Royal
Snowboard Kids 2
Pilotwings 64
Street Supremacy
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
King's Field
Forza Horizon 4?
Fallout 3
Final Fantasy X (HD)
Guess I pulled a Neo Driftout 1cc as well. (only game I can 1cc)

I don’t think I bought a lot of new games this year. On the Neo front I think it was just Ghost Pilots and KOTM. Beat KOTM but not even fucking close on Ghost Pilots (I only have a stock AES).

Hmm, oh I beat Streets of Rage 4 on Switch which I loved even though I think a lot of people didn’t enjoy. I started both Gears 4 and 5 but didn’t finish either and don’t plan to play them again until I get a Series X.

Other than that I beat some games this year in new formats that I beat previously like Punisher, TMNT and Turtles in Time on an Arcade1up machine. Still can’t beat Marvel Super Heroes or Children of the Atom though. I suck but you still have to love me.

I appreciate it dude. Parasite Eve holds a lot of sentimental value for me, even though I never owned it when I was younger. I first saw it when I was about 9 years old on a PS Underground disc, and it totally freaked me out, lol. It got burnt into my mind, and when I was a bit older I finally sat down and played through it. The Chrysler Building has the best ending, and an absolutely beautiful, exclusive, music track just for the final floor. The satisfaction from beating it the first time was totally worth it. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t grueling, though.

I love the series, and even read the original novel that it’s based on. It’s freakier than the game IMO. :lolz:

Good lord. I was going to ask if anyone still "beats" video games. But now I think my question will be, "Do you have a job?"

The majority of those games were beaten during the initial quarantine, where I was working only 20 hours per week and having absolutely no social life or family interaction. Around August timeframe, it took a nosedive and I hardly played anything at all due to moving around and powering through my last semester of grad school.

Back in March when all hope was lost I got out my Game Boy and played Super Mario Land, Operation C, and Mega Man 1 and 2. My bedroom became a womb for me to regress in. But then I got a side job teaching online and didn't play anything for the rest of the year.

SML. Super Mario Land. StickmanLoser.

I beat a dozen games this year, about 1/2 are arcade titles that only took a few minutes. The 3 games that took me the longest were FF7 Remake, Demon Souls Remake, and Death Stranding. I really loved all 3, and enjoyed every minute of those (except for FF7R's bike sequences). In particular, something about Death Stranding really struck a cord with the whole isolation/reconnection theme during the pandemic lockdown. I logged almost 100 hours of this game and wanted to play some more.

I had plans to complete a bunch of games, but ended up playing Animal Crossing all year. Hoping to actually complete a bunch in 2021

Wonder Boy (SMS)
Shinobi (SMS)
Dungeon Explorer (MCD, only with the warrior, tho)
Forza Horizon 4 (completed all the stuff of the standard game)
Wonder Boy III - The Dragon's Trap (MD)

Shinobi was the most challenging game, Wonder Boy III took the most time (but it's well worth it), Dungeon Explorer on MCD was a bit of a chore at times, Wonder Boy was kinda easy, Horizon 4 plays and looks awesome, can't go wrong with the Forza series.

Played/completed most of these games during the spring lockdown over here, our company closed doors for almost two months and I had loads of free time.
