Headphone jack gets hot…

So I wired up a headphone jack to to my harness so that I could either use the speaks on the cab or put phones in if it’s late.
When I plug in my headphones I can feel them get really warm/hot with in 30 secs. To the best of my knowledge there is no voltage going through just L/R/grnd.
I have the speakers wired up to a male screw terminal to plug into the jack. The speakers sound fine but the headphones heat up…

I'm pretty sure there's voltage on an amplified speaker output.

Yeah, don't do that lol. Your headphones are probably expecting line level audio and you're sending it amplified speaker levels of juice

Should be using something like one of these inline:

Should be using something like one of these inline:
Not line level. You still need a headphone amp or it will be too quiet.
