Hello everyone,

I search on the web, sometimes I read not and sometimes I read yes.

So where is the truth ?

Thank you 🙏

No holo for me, but my photo has good ray tracing at least.

@Neo Alec That looks like a fake label, font is wrong, but also is that a Korean sticker on top?

My slug 2 is a holo label and a 12k range serial number.
Hmm yeah, good catch. The 2 does look really off. This was bought randomly on ebay in 2002 so I never gave it much thought. It's odd it has a serial number.

Yeah, there's a Korean sticker on top, but like I said, this one got to me through ebay. It's legit inside.

One thing I've noticed after looking at fonts waaaaaay too closely. Look at the ends of the curves on the S or the G. On SNKs usual font these always come to a flat horizontal end while most 'close-ish' fonts terminate with a slight angle.

I'm not a very visual person, so it's easy to get by me. I never really scrutinized this one. I wonder if the serial is stolen, made up or if they copied the serial from an original Japanese label that was removed. Maybe there are some legit Korean labels that actually look like this.

It's seems entirely possible a batch of Metal Slug 2s were relabeled for the Korean market, I think it's Waku 7 and Ninja Masters that always use the same serial number on the Korean label. Although with other 'Korean' version games they usually say 'Made in Korea' rather than 'Made in Japan'.

Here is another cart, same label as yours I found online. Is yours an English warning sticker?

The font and label of your Slug 2 look very similar to the legit Korean WW7 cart I used to have. I'd be willing to bet it's an authentic cart for the Korean market, though if that were the case it's odd it doesn't say "Made in Korea" on the label like other Korean MVS carts. Could just be a well made replacement, but if the boards and chips are legit who cares.

Welp, look at that. Same serial. Yep, English warning sticker on mine.

I'll tell ya who: Someone who ran out of things to do and replaced all their fake label carts with legit label carts. (Me.)
