EDIT. I made a usergroup specifically for this type of shit... where it limits your abilities to post sigs and ANY images...

A maximum vertical height is my solution. I don’t expect mods to go around measuring pixel heights but something where one can tell by looking that a sig is too big.

I never complained, but I did turn sigs off like a year ago because some of the animated gifs were slowing things down too much for me and sometimes there are small children about whom I don't want to see the more risqué ones--I can appreciate a clever/funny/sexy pic as much as anyone, but, ultimately, I'm here to read what members are posting. I've just been using text for mine these days, since Photobucket turned to the dark side, and even when I did use images, they were always small ones. I think size limits on sigs is a reasonable compromise to make.
