Man, I never played Silent Hill 2 OR the original until four days ago. The same goes for one of my friends at college with Eternal Darkness and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father.

He brought his Silent Hill stuff up, I brought up my Gamecube/etc. stuff. This has not been condusive to learning but oh well.

Silent Hill 1 and 2 are fucking amazing. I'm not even halfway through either of them and I already like them more than any Resident Evil game I've played with the possible exception of Code Veronica.

Everyone should play through at least one of the games listed above to commemorate the time of year in addition to one ( or preferabley ALL :D ) of the following:

Alone in the Dark (PC/3D0)
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare (DC)
Beast Busters (Obtaining the PCB would be the ultimate "treat" :D )
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (PC/PSX)
Carrier (DC)
Castlevania (Everything besides The Castlevania Adventure)
Clock Tower (SNES)
Clock Tower (PSX)
Dark Seed (PC)
Demon's Crest (SNES)
Dracula Unleashed (PC/3D0)
Friday the Thirteenth (NES)
Gabriel Knight series (PC)
Gargoyle's Quest 2 (NES)
Ghosts N' Goblins (Any version)
Ghouls N' Ghosts (Any version)
Halloween (2600)
House of the Dead series (Saturn/DC)
Illbleed (DC)
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (DC)
Maniac Mansion (NES/PC)
Night Creatures (TG-16)
Night Trap (SCD/3D0)
Personal Nightmare (PC)
Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession (PC)
Realms of the Haunting (PC)
Sanitarium (PC)
Shadowgate (NES)
Shin Megami Tensei/Devil Story/Devil Summoner/etc. (various)
Splatterhouse (TG16)
Splatterhouse 3 (Genesis)
System Shock 2 (PC)
Thing, The (PS2/XBox)
Twisted Tales of Spike McFang, The (SNES)
Waxworks (PC)

Look around, you can find yourself all of these for next to nothing and they all are amazing with the lights out and the sound high. Try www.theunderdogs.com for some of the public domain PC games.

Don't forget Silent Hill 2 for XBOX.

Gotta love the prison scene where you hear the heavy footsteps and ghostly beckoning on the floor above you!

Silent Hill is a PSX classic far as I'm concerned. :)

Clock Tower on PSX rocks. Scissorman is one sick bad guy.

I am looking forward to Clock Tower 3.

Never played Deep Fear yet either... but I hear it's a good game.

I wish someone made a 3D game based on "Halloween" the movie. Imagine being stalked by Michael Myers... I'm not sure how the game engine should be, but I know I would love such a game. Myers is plain out spooky.

The lead pipe in Silent Hill 1 ruined any kind of suspense or notion of horror for me. My friend and I played it and when we found that pipe we were all charged about finding enemies so we could beat em the hell down like they stole something.

Clock Tower was another game I couldn't get into. I was at one of the E3 shows in Atlanta and ASCII had a guy in their booth dressed up as the fellow on the CD cover. His antics were comical at best and borderline annoying so I could never get into the game 'cuz everytime I saw the guy in the game I thought of that loser at E3.

The first Persona game for PSX was creepy but was a nice game. I still have it and need to figure out where I left off.

You forgot to include Vampire Night ;) .

BTW anyone played PSX "Martian Gothic"? It was one of those 10 dollars PSX games and EGM said it was one of the rare good 10 dollar games.

I guess I'll pick it up someday. Just to see what it's about.

The Game is being made at the moment for the PS2.I had the web site and all the info on it but I lost it when I switched ISP servers.I have to try and find it again and post it here.My best friend had sent me the site,He's such a big Myers fan that when he saw that the game was being made he went out and bought a PS2.

I know Friday the 13th was said for the NES already, but what about the C=64 version? That game still scares the living crap outta me every time I play. The SID digital screams and the bloody flash screens get me each and every time LOL.

It's a little old so it's...it seems a might short in the graphics and audio departments. But if you compare it to it's contemporary it's a really good looking game.

I was very much into the whole dynamic of the game: You have several different action buttons. They list them in the manual and you can change them in your options, but until you 'remember' what they do in the game, they don't do anything. They don't even tell you what they do. I thought that was cool as hell.

All and all it's a really good little game, not that complicated. It's damned near impossible to 'die' and the puzzles are sort of easy for any experienced gamers.

I'd reccomend it. You can still get it if you look hard enough online.

Side note to that, the developer Dreamforge Internainment has a lot of very cool, underrated games. I went to thier Christmas Party a few years back so I basically met and talked with everyone who worked there. They were, without a doubt, the single nicest group of people in the industry I've ever had a chance to talk to...the sheer fact that they let two no-body wannabe's come to one of thier few functions should prove that.

I've noticed lately that they've been very quite, I went to thier website the other day and it was down. It'd be a real shame if something bad happened.

Michael Myers PS2 bound?

A new Halloween video game for the PS2 is currently in the works. Nothing has been released about this game, all we do know is that it is in development. The release date is not known at this point either. This game will be based off of the popular horror series "Halloween" starring the maniacal killer himself, Michael Myers. This is one of the most popular horror movies in the world and should make an outstanding video game. There have been many Halloween movies in the series, the latest one being Halloween H20, which was a hit in the box office. This game is going to be a PS2 exclusive. No other consol will be receiving this title as far as we know. The story of the game will probably be based on the original Halloween film, which takes place in Haddonfield, Illinois. More information will be available within the next few months. All we can do is wait for Michael to arrive on the PS2.

Thank's to two of the biggers Horror fans I know.Ron Paglio and Veronica Hully.
Check out Veronica's web site if you like.

The one game I will be playing this week leading up to Halloween is Nosferatu for the SNES.

Such a cool 'Prince of Persia' type game with a cool horror theme.

Very, very good late gen SNES graphics and a very dark and gory theme (even amongst horror games in general).

I love it.

Also, I wish to god I could find the SFC ver. of Clock Tower, I want that game so very bad.

Also, PSX Silverload (Which I just played through) is very awesome. Cowboys + Vampires + Werewolves + on rockin' time.

And Splatterhouse 2 + 3 for Genesis are always must plays come Halloween time.

Other faves:

Vampire Hunter (Sat)
Vampire Savior (Sat)
Gargoyles Quest 2 (NES)
Demon's Crest (SNES)
Chakan (Gen)
Resident Evil 2 (PSX or DC)
Alone in the Dark 1-4 (Various)
The 1st level of Gex (3DO)
Warlock (Gen)
Satan's Hollow (Arcade)/(EMU)
Chiller (Arcade)/(EMU)
