At 10AM today I picked up my copy of KoF2KDC! It freaking rules! :D Discuss.

Anyways I'm very impressed. I don't have the Neo Geo version side by side to compare but I will soon. At the moment everything looks exact and load times are next to none once you get in the game. Screen fades black for about one full second and you're in the next round.

Check this out, everytime you examine a picture in the art gallery, it plays a random AST track which continues as long as you just scroll through the gallery normally without backing out. One of the tracks I heard was Nakoruru's Samurai Shodown II AST. :D I haven't gotten the Striker backgrounds yet but I'm hoping this means it actually PLAYS some extra AST tracks while those backgrounds are in effect. It would suck if this was just a tease like those KoF'94 AST tracks they put in the Dream Match 1999 gallery. :(

Anyways I didn't unlock the puzzle yet, and it's a step down from KoF Evolution presentation-wise in that there's no ingame movelist, no souped up menus and the such but that's irrelevent to me since the game itself seems 100% intact.

Is Zero playable in this? He wasn't selectable initially but I've only gone through the game in arcade mode once, if my friends and I can put it down later for just one person to play we'll see what we can get via beating the game repeatedly/etc..

Edit: Forgot this was just for News/Rumors.

*AHEM* www.neo-geo.com online community member Neo Rasa has brought to attention the possibility that he has procured a copy of The King of Fighters 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast console.

Rasa, I've been reading various reports that the game has garbled graphics in some places. Can you verify this?

Also, how are you playing the game? By bootdisc, mod or Jap DC, etc?

And PLEASE tell me there's a "random" button in the character select, like in the NG version.

Random select is available in all modes except training. :)

The graphics seem like they may be SLIGHTLY garbled, however the SPEED of the game is up there with the original so you don't exactly notice it. I'll try to confirm this ASAP.

Chizuru's KoF'96 stage doesn't have the movie in the back round of Andy Bogard jump kicking Mr. Big and Ryo kicking ass and such, just the KoF logo. :( I shed a tear at the KoF'95 Neo Geo World level too. Alt-Robert gets the KoF'98 dojo as his background. :D

I personally am playing the game using a DC-X boot disc.

You guys crack my shit up...

When KOF2000 came out on the Neo nobody cared and some even spoke against it. But for some reason the DC version has all of you drooling over it?

Just kind of odd..

We crack your shit up? What do we do, chisel at it after it dries?

Boy, of all the weird euphemisms...

It's exciting because it has nostalgia and stuff, some neat extras, and the AST soundtrack to boot (PLUS some extra tracks).

All that for $50.

It beats $265 for OST tunes and a shitload of Joe striker infinites.

I think people are excited because SNK DC ports are pretty nice. There's lots of perks. They run in S-Video without adapters or mods. You have a wider variety of controllers to choose from.

My question to you is: Why are you trying to ruin people's fun? If you want to be a fundamentalist Neo collector party pooper, go to the CGE, get yourself a NGF collector coupon, and whack off to it or something. Quit trying to rain on people's parade. -_-

Well said!! Nothing against you Yakumo, but not everyone can afford 265-300 dollar AES carts so when a cheaper (and legel, no rom bs) version comes to a system people get excited. Also the fact that it is a new game for the Dreamcast. And I think it is a pretty safe thing to say that a lot of people are fans of the Dreamcast as they are of the Neo.

It's good, hell I think it is great. As far as garbled graphics, I don't see them. This game looks really great, and it has this certain polish to it that looks really great. I don't see any jaggies or anything. BTW, I am playing using s-video on a 20 wega.

There is certain animation missing from a few classic backgrounds but the fact that they are there in mostly 100% form is great regardless. They (Playmore) didn't even have to add them and most people would have bought the straight port anyway.

I also must say that the puzzle mode is exellent. After completing the practice pictures I thought "well this is going to be easy" But once you get to the challenge mode it gets real hard. Some of these pics take quite awhile. But dam it is fun.

I hope Playmore adds something similar for KOF 2K1. I really have to tip my hat to Playmore they did a hell of a job on this port. I have a feeling that if they had more time they could have added the missing animation on some of the classic backgrounds but regardless it is a great port.

Hey, what up? . . .

Um, I picked this game up today!
I have a US DC with a mod chip.
The game looks great! Yes, some
of the graphics look off a bit,
but it's not noticeable much.
Its because the game is in high
resolution, just like MOTW for DC.
Arranged music is great as well.
One thing that I don't like,
is that on the title screen it
says Playmore. For 2000 it should
only say SNK, don't you think?
I know Playmore is responsible
for this title being released
on DC though, but at least
it should say SNK/Playmore?
No big deal though.
The characters don't seem
small like in 98 or 99 for DC
either. It almost feels like
playing the homecart.
One other bad thing is many
of the extra backgrounds
suck. They don't move at all,
their like snapshots! They
only seem to come on during
vs mode gratefully.
If anyone has questions
about the game, feel free
to ask.

peace. . .

The backgrounds are literally JUST the background, no other layers, that's why some of them don't seem animated, but others do.

Extra backgrounds I've seen so far (will edit more in as I spot them)~

Billy Kane FF1
Chizuru Kagura KoF'96
Dojo circa KoF'98
Krizalid KoF'99
Li Xiangfei/Hon Fu RBFF2
Psycho Soldiers '94

No King Lion Palace unfortunately. :(

For you information, that was NOT a tease only. You're referrring to the AST for 'Ne!' (Girl team 94), right?

That track was avaible in the game for edited team. Like the 'Iori challenging Kyo' special track and others.
