It's true.

I got the pc version, and it even supports same system multiplayer!

I'm still not sure if my game saved properly though.... It's supposed to autosave, but it never tells you that. I had to look it up online.

Awesome game.

Shame some of the unlockable's ruin the game, but only because you have to replay the levels to gain enough cash to buy them.

Probably the finest platform shooter ever made.

I concur, awesome game. I loved bringing over all of my characters from the first one, but why do I have to keep switching on all of the "special" options every time I start the game? Kind of frustrating as I always forget. I really miss the minikit detector from the first one.

Han Solo kicks so much ass it's scary, 40 Stormtroopers running at you guns blazing? No problem.

I agree it can be a bit hard, but for some reason I feel horrible about turning the adaptive difficulty off. Still haven't done it no matter how frustrated I get.

i thought it was fun if not a bit repetitive.

0 desire to go back for all the secrets though.

i didnt really like the lightsaber combat mechanics either.

For some reason I found the sequel boring and uninspiring compared to the first game. Playing through the A New Hope, I noticed how the lightsaber wielding characters had been downgraded in power in favor of the blaster characters. Most of the fun I derived from the first game consisted of jumping in and going into melee mode with the lightsaber on all the unsuspecting droids. With the sequel it's just run and gun with a lot less satisfaction.

Sure, it's nice to have the original trilogy scenarios, but they seem to have created some extras that detract from the simplicity of the original game. Extra vehicles, stormtrooper and bounty hunter mode - nice extras but they detract from the initial playthrough and seem more appropriate for repeat runs. I prefer a complete initial experience with extra unlockables as a desert, rather than a full course such as in this sequel. I am probably in the minority on this one, but I'll stick with the original for the design, atmosphere, and lightsaber power.

Sincerely,

Mikhail

Strange reason I haven't got this game... I've heard that it pulls save data from Lego Star Wars 1. I own the first one, but I forget what platform and I where I put it. Therefore, I can't get the 2nd because it might not match up with the first. :emb:

I played the GC version and was disapointed. Hopefully the PC version got patches to fix all of its bugs (especially in multiplayer).

The game would crash at certain levels, camera angle changes would mess up two players mode (often flinging at least one of the characters accross the screen making it almost impossible in some cases to go to bonus areas without having one player forcing themselves out). It was also annoying when one character driving a vehicle goes off screen and gets brought back into the game as another random character (often a droid, reallly useful during a fight).

I also thought that the level designs didn't seem as interesting this time around. I thought some of the bonuses and unlockables were a little tedious (oh, so I have to play through the game in both modes, collect as much cash in both levels and then once that's over I have to play the whole episode from start to finish...) In some cases it felt like the designers tacked stuff on the game because they thought it would be too short.

In the end, I did like the game, but it really needed some extra testing.

Edit:
Yes. Depending on the platform, there is an unlockable that allows you to use an old save game. It is a bit limited however. You can use the characters in "Free Play" modes (and some special unlockable stages). There are some bonus vehicle based stages that allow you to use the minikit vehicles from the first game as well.

Absolutely brilliant game. Shame that the new bionicle game (made by the same developer) is rubbish :(

Yes, I played it at my cousin's and it was cool.
I'd probably end up buying it.

I'm curious to play these since they sound quite cool.

Anyone recommend any of the console versions over the other?

What about the GC version, is it in Progressive Scan? XBOX version in 5.1 audio?

I understand the 360 version barely improves the visuals.

WHICH VERSION DAMMIT????
