Living the dream entails having the same job and same pay for 15 years?

same pay, same work, no stress, no employees to manage, no expectations

just punch in and do your bid

Me personally I would have loved some cush job like I don't know a city appointed elevator inspector where I rarely work and clean up

I could just do my rounds once a week and be like, "hmmmmm ... I don't know if this elevator is quite up to code, but you know, my kid could use one of those new shiny Nintendos I see in the papers ... I guess we're going to have to shut these down until you're compliant"

That's the kind of job we should all aspire to have

If anyone's dream includes having a job they need to work on their imagination

I like to work. Just not all day. Just not 5 days a week. Gotta do something. Life would get boring really fast.

"They say the number one killer of old people is retirement. People got a job to do, they tend to live a little longer so they can do it."

I'm not ready to retire.

They've pushed the retirement age up as people live longer but healthy years have barely gone up in decades. People can now expect to live around the last 20% of their lives in ill health - they think they'll retire at 65 and have 20 years of living it up until they die, ignoring the fact that 17 years of that will be shit. When people say they're not ready to retire what they don't know is that they probably won't, in any enjoyable way.
