Nice job. Hard work to get that improvement.

I don't bench much anymore, max was 285, 20 years removed from that. I did a few reps at 225 a few weeks ago in my garage gym. Max is probably 245 right now. Much more focused on cardio. Metabolism slowing and testosterone slowing are real. My energy for intense workouts especially multiple days in a row just isn't there.

Those are still great numbers.

Have you thought about TRT?

Nah, and that's a rabbit hole that would truly derail the thread. Regardless my testosterone I still believe in mind over matter and can make myself do what needs doing if I want it enough.

I think it's good for some people, but also need to be careful - some of the supplements and replacements are not vetted and can really mess with your organs and whatnot.

I mean, from a strength standpoint, most "supplements" besides protein powder and creatine are snake oil...

He's 72, cut him some slack.
There's no excuse to be all about health/fitness and then neglect proper muscle activation by poor range of motion.

I've seen videos of 80 and 90 year olds doing proper pull-ups, so it isn't about age, it's about knowledge (or lackof) and application.

He gets even less slack by the position he currently holds.
