Man, I miss living in Tulsa. I lived right down the street from Fuddruckers and probably gained 15lbs from that place. The food is so great..

on a scale of 1 to 10, Fuddruckers is a fucking 4 on the hamburger scale, and possibly 2 on the food scale. What a fucking joke.

I couldn't even imagine where to start on this question... I'd suggest things like (in no particular order, but things I think are magnificent):

  • real, authentic poutine.
  • A perfect chocolate chip cookie (there are a number of good places).
  • french dip, double dip from Philippe's, alongside coleslaw and a piece of their apple pie
  • authentic cheesesteak wit' wiz.
  • juicy steak from a place like Ruth Chris, Mastro's or Manny's (I prefer filet or sirloin).
  • Anything by Joel Robuchon.
  • Emeril's incredible BBQ shrimp (I've had it four times, it never disappoints).
  • Crayfish etouffee equal to what's at the Bon Ton Cafe.
  • Just about anything at Antoine's, Galatoire's, Commander's Palace, Brennan's, or Couchon
  • high quality sushi, not rolls which can mask serious issues (including the best flavors)
  • Fresh tuna belly for breakfast at one of the stalls in the Tsukiji market
  • Bobby Flay's Coffee Rubbed Steak at Mesa Grill
  • chili-cheese fries from the original Tommy's shack
  • Japanese curry, katsu or shrimp
  • palak paneer and naan, but only if done right --let me know where you find it, btw
  • a well appointed charcuterie plate
  • foie gras cooked by someone who knows what to do with it
  • Good pate
  • any Michelin 3-star
  • the beef barg with rice at Shamshiri in Westwood
  • fresh, raw, creamy oysters from the Pacific Northwest
  • lobster roll equivalent or better than the one at Todd English's Kingfisher Hall in Boston
  • halva
  • thick, fresh clam chowder
  • fried clams from the Clam Box in Ipswitch, MA
  • well-made risotto (easier said than done)
  • dinner at The Rules, London --proof English food can actually be good (which is nobel prize worthy)
  • lemon ricotta hotcakes and Rosti potatoes from Hell's Kitchen, Minneapolis
  • fresh bread and top quality Caspian caviar (I didn't believe how good it was until I tried the good stuff.. its like how bad quality booze can prematurely sway your judgment)
  • bacon pancakes from the Original Pancake House chain, assuming all franchises are as good as each other
  • blue-cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped, dates: My god, they're awesome.
  • jamon iberico (if you can find it outside Spain, get it)
  • ropa vieja, fried plantains and black bean soup at a place like Versailles in Miami (or the LA knockoffs)
  • just about anything from El Cholo's main location on Western in LA, make sure to wash it down with a Cadillac Margarita or two.

I could keep chugging these out, but I'm getting hungry despite being full from a supper club I tried here in Green Bay.

I can't eat any more Beef Paties... I used to eat one at the end of every bar night from the Habibian Deli. With Coco Bread, CHeese and Hot sauce.

Then one day, I couldn't eat them.

I've always said that everyone should try sushi at least once (it's my favourite food).

Deffo.

So many people say 'never' and then when you finally get them shackled in your basement and forcefeed them some sashami they're all 'actually, this IS pretty good, on reflection I'm glad you abducted me'.

Birthday Cake Ice Cream from Richardson's in MA.

Vanilla cake batter base with chunks of frosting and cake pieces in it.

Used to eat this once a week or so before I gave up the crap food.

I could easily eat a drum of this in one sitting.

Sounds more like a dessert everybody should have (at least once) before they die rather than a meal. :lolz:

Did Fuddruckers kill your mother and rape your father? Cuz that is one angry response!

Very nice topic. :)

As for me, I would start by saying is not just about the meal/food per se, but also about the experience you get having that meal/food.

I.E. I *luv* cheap&good food over expecive&posh food. I'm not talking about junk food, don't get me wrong (though I must say Burger King has some nice treats as well) but mostly referring to popular, common food.

My most beloved food is Kansai food. Kansai, as you may know, is one region in Japan, the one with Osaka (and SNK, yes). I could seriosly eat Kasai-ryouri (that's Kansai-cuisine) everyday. Treat me with some serious (I mean the real deal, not the tourist fake shit) okonomiyaki, takoyaki, katsu-karee rice, Osaka-style sushi, whatever. And I'll be happy. :)

What's that sake in the glass in the last pic?

Is that how it's sold in outdoor food carts or something?

I want one.
