Clean the cart slots and clear the backup memory.

It could still be just dirty slots/cart connectors. Also, your diag cart could be wrong.

Similar to your issue...

When you say the battery damage is "not bad", have you confirmed that everything in that area is cleaned up and still connected?

desoldered the Z80 and tested it with the chiptester V2, PASSED even the BURN-IN test is ok  removed the ROM chip next to it.. PCB looks clean on both chips.. i'll do the YM2610 later.

This might be a bit of a guess but I've had a trace or two break from just handling the motherboard, maybe it was me or maybe it was broken before hand it's a mystery but I'd start by tracing from the cart slot. It might be a nightmare but if you're intent on fixing this it's worth the time.

No, it doesn't. It looks good, but you need to do the work of beeping them all out if you haven't already. Did you repair those ones in the immediate area? I see exposed copper already.

tested the 6116 static ram, test failed... but after a firmware update on the chiptester V2 it passes the test  oh well, the only thing that could be bad is the YM2610.

ok! update about the sound issue, it's still there o_O i soldered sockets on the board so there has to be a bad trace under one of the custom chips... puzzle de pon is really off with the music, my ears... what to do next??? i checked all the connections from de chips to the cartridge connector...
